Hi
I wonder if any Reunion Resort owners can clarify this for me.
I stayed at Reunion Resort in Feb.2008, having booked through a private owner. We paid a small fee directly to them for passes to use the resort facilities such as the waterpark etc. - no problem. However, we did have to pay a very hefty deposit as its a cashless resort and we understood they needed some assurity against people running up huge bar tabs etc.(not that we did !)
I also understand that the Resort do not make it easy for private rentals to rent out - infact I'd almost say they discourage it because it spoils their own rental market.
However, just being nosey, I took a look on the same private owners website today and noticed that they only let out the villa now WITHOUT access to the resort facilities
I was a bit shocked, given that most people would book on the strength of the fantastic facilities, especially since it is so much more expensive than most resorts.
My question is does anyone know if there have been some changes in recent weeks on this resort regarding private rentals or has this particular renter just got sick of the complications it causes re: deposits etc ??? Perhaps they had a bad experience ??
I tried emailing the owner, who did confirm they had stopped issuing passes to all but relatives & friends or business associates...but it was unclear as to why this had occurred.
The reason I am asking is because we'd like to visit this resort again, but no way would we pay all that money if we could not use the waterpark, gym, bars etc.
......and if it is a resort wide ruling, I'm wondering if it will affect anyone else renting, or intending to rent in future.
Are there any Reunion owners on here who could answer my query please....or anyone stayed there VERY recently ???
