We are headed back to VB in June after a 3 yr break so I have a few questions.

1. Cost of umbrella and 2 loungers on Beach?
2. Dining? We always hit Cpt Hiriams but what about Squid Lips?
3. Pirate dinner? Is this similiar to the Pirate bash they offer at Hilton Head?
4. Seafood Buffet? Price? Items? Quality?
5. I read somewhere where someone mentioned pool bracelets? Seriously?
6. Pool loungers, still hard due to people putting belongings on chairs hrs before using them?

Super excited!!!

I can't answer most of your questions but the seafood buffet was awesome. There was a ton of seafood, the length of the hallway down to the entrance of Shutters was all buffet. Plus they had pot roast and the works to go with it as a non-fish option. I loved the buffet, they also had a whole buffet of desserts too. We usually do Capt Hirams and love it. We didn't use the beach chairs cause the beach was a work in progress while we were there. We went to the pool early and I admit to taking 2 beach chairs plus the table behind us for the 2 of us. But we eat lunch there and when I need a break from the sun I sit at the table. The sandwiches at the pool were delish, we split a sandwich and it was plenty. The people that work there are the best especially Tim, after the first day he knew that we were splitting a sandwich and they always came on 2 plates. And he makes really yummy drinks. I know that you will have a great time.

We just came back from out first (but not last) stay!

There were no bracelets for the pool, just need to use your key to get in.

We were there the second week of March and there were always chairs available, mostly in the sun. There were notes about not leaving stuff to claim chairs and that stuff left untouched for more than an hour would be taken and need to be claimed, but I did not see it in action or a need for it to be.

I have not been to HHI Pirate dinner, but the VB one had chicken, ribs, BBQ pork (red sauce), corn bread, rolls, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and corn on the cob and cupcakes. Goofy and Donald were dressed as pirates and made the rounds.

We did not rent the chairs and umbrellas (and I did not look at the cost) as our kids liked to rotate between the pool and the beach and most of the beach time was in the water with us (DD4 and DS8).

We did not eat the seafood buffet (we ate at Sonya's that night!) but as the PP noted it was the length of the hallway and was nicely stocked.

Have a great time! :goodvibes
