Hi everyone,
I am so happy, we will be at WDW again next month:D
We stayed at PC in February and we really liked it. In February we only stayed at WDW for a week and we were not able to experience everything. So now we will be there for two weeks. First a week at PC again and than a week at AKL, I cannot wait to be there.
Fortunately it is a real hot summer in the Netherlands at the moment, about 90F, so I am getting used to the Florida-weather.
No airco around here, so WDW must be even better;)
Anyone around here, who has some up to date advices for me, about what to do or where to eat?
The planning is real fun as well, isn't it?
Many greetings again from a :sunny: Amsterdam.

Oh, I just want to add to this story, that we aren't the Dutch royal family or something like that, we cannot swim in our money:D
We saved every dime for the last 7 months and worked very hard for this trip.
I have reread my story and thought it sounded a bit posh, my excuses for that:D

I didn't think your post sounded posh. And I agree about the Pop Century, I think it's a great place to return to. My kids and I stayed there in June for 4 nights, and they loved the place! I wish I was going now, too. I don't know of any updates on things, but I can recommend the Crystal Palace for breakfast. Really good food, and lots of it too! Have fun on your trip!!

Crystal Palace is at MK isn't it?
I have made some PS for breakfast at Boma, but meeting the characters at breakfast will be nice for adults as well:D
It's only the two of us, we don't have children unfortunately, but we luckily didn't really grow up. So staying at WDW is real fun for us:D

We were at PC in Jan. and can't wait to go back. It's just the two of us also but like you we still have not really grown up. We use to stay at only deluxe resorts but DW talked me into PC and I did not want to admit it but I loved it.
As far as new stuff I think Stitches Alien Encounter is open at MK, other than that just enjoy your 2 weeks. You'll be able to see and do a lot of things, maybe too much, so remember to take an off day and go Downtown to do some shopping. My DW can always do a little shopping. From a Maine :firefight

Make sure you eat dinner at Boma, too. I've never had breakfast there, but have eaten dinner at Boma my last three times at WDW. Very delicious!

I've wondered about staying at Pop Century without kids. I stayed there in February with my 4yo and liked it. It was somewhat noisy, though, and wasn't sure how I would like it if I went with just my husband. Glad you enjoyed it.

How about doing one of the tours? My husband and I might go to WDW in October and are thinking about the Segway tour. We've never been without our children and have tried to come up with some more adult ideas that we wouldn't do with the kids. Circue is on our list, along with Pleasure Island.

Too bad you're not going when I'm going or I'd have you bring some of the wonderful Dutch licorice for me! ;) My DH found a store in CT that sells the Dutch licorice, which was a real treat for us, but he only makes the drive several times a year when he goes on business. (My sister lived in the Netherlands about 14 years ago and I visited her, which is when I first had the licorice).

Oh you're all so funny:D
Someone on another thread asked me to bring him some stroopwafels, these are real Dutch cookies, and you are fond of licorice. It seems like there is a lot of good food around here...
But luckily it's all quite innocent, Amsterdam is also famous for a lot of less innocent things;)
Yeah, we did like PopCentury and we didn't consider it too noisy.
But we are used to living in a city you know, I sleep with earplugs all the time. So I bring them on vacation as well:D
You can make nice strolls at night at PC, loved the lighted Mr. and Mrs. Potatoehead!
And I sure think you can have a good time everywhere with the right attitude, so especially at WDW.

I've got friends from the Netherlands that live about an hour from here. They're the nicest people! I just wish I was as organized as she is!

If you need a quiet room for the Pop Century, ask for a room in the 70's building facing the lake. We stayed there in June, and it was perfectly quiet! We loved the Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head too! Couldn't resist taking a picture there!!

We have made reservations for a preferred room. We stayed in the sixties last time and found it very nice to be sure that you are next to EverythingPop and near the buses ofcourse.
Wouldn't it be nice of WDW to create a "the Netherlands"section at Epcot? With a Dutch windmill and wooden shoes and tulips...
And a store where you can buy licorice, stroopwafels, cheese and things like that? I am sure that it would be a great succes, don't you think so?
