Returning to CDG from Disneyland

Hello,

I am not new to the Disboards, but am new to the Disneyland Paris forum. There is so much information here in the states about WDW and DL CA but it is difficult to find detailed information about DL Paris, so I am thrilled to find this thread.

I have seen several posts about taking the RER or TGV TO DLP from CDG, but I need one way return information. (We will be staying a few days in LaDefense before we go to DLP, so we'll grab the RER line to get there.)

If we have a 1:30 p.m. (13:30) international flight, what time should I book the VEA bus from Hotel Santa Fe: 8:40? 9:40? 10:40? I had been told this service is the easiest way to get back to the airport with luggage, rather than taking the RER back through Paris on a work morning.

I am also curious about the TGV? Would you recommend this over the bus?

Welcome to the DLP board :)

The 9.40 shuttle would work well if you want to get there three hours before your flight, but if you think you only need two hours then take the 10.40. The journey takes about 45 mins.

If you've got a fair amount of luggage, then the VEA will be easier than the TGV. Slower, but easier!!

You don't say how many of you are travelling, however, another way to consider is a private or shared shuttle.

There are some links in the Useful Information sticky, under "Travelling to DLP By Plane"

We have booked a shared shuttle with RS Transports for our October trip, and the cost was only slightly more than the VEA, and cheaper than the train I think! There are two of us, teen daughter would count as an adult, so effectively 2 adults travelling.

Just got back on Sunday, and used the VEA to and from CDG - was so easy this time (had trouble in the past on the reutrn leg due to loads of people wanting to use the bus - we were the only people who got on at Hotel New York this time tho).

Our check in opened at 1955, so we caught the 1825 (actually was about 10 mins late) VEA which got us there in plenty of time :goodvibes

We just left Disneyland yesterday. My cousin left taking the bus at noon and didn't get to CDG until 1:45! I took a taxi at 9:15 and I was there at 9:45. Of course, the taxi cost was 72 Euros.

Annette,

Thanks for this recommendation. Have you used this company before or know anyone who has? I am always a little nervous booking arrangements of this type which have to be pre-paid with a credit card if I don't know anyone who can vouch for their legitimacy.

There are two of us, so this would be just a little bit more than VEA but not as much as a taxi!

Has anyone else had any experience with this service? Do the drivers speak English?

Hi,

RS transports gets very good reviews on this forum - we used them last November - can't fault them at all. You don't have to prepay, or use a credit card, either. You can choose when you book to pay the driver cash when you arrive at your hotel.
The RS transport service was, at 55 euro for a shared shuttle, more expensive for 2 than either the VEA or the TGV though (our party of 2 is one adult and one child, and I just this week paid £20 for the TGV from Disneyland back to CDG). The adult fare for this journey was £13 each way, if booked at least 7 days in advance.

In my opinion, the TGV for the DLRP - CDG journey is very reliable, and relatively straightforward too. The only thing I'd say is, if you have a lot of luggage, its maybe not the most convenient option. On our return journey this time, I saw a couple with 2 young children take the TGV then the internal CDGVal between terminals. They got on great though, as they only had one big suitcase and a pushchair as luggage.

No, I haven't used them myself (yet), but as Elaine says, they have been used by others on this board who would recommend them.

Regarding payment up front, is this a new thing? I haven't paid anything yet, we plan to pay cash when we travel. I know that you can pay up front with a credit card, if you choose to, I believe there is a commission charge for doing this.

.

We did last september and can tell you we were more than satisfied.
The driver was a little late at our arrival (about 20 mins) because there had been a misunderstanding about who was the one supposed to pick us up but - as i complained - on way back he was there about 20 minutes earlier than supposed.
We payed 140 euro for the four of us - all adults - both ways, we payed the driver 80 euros at the arrival and 60 on way back.
The car was a mini van confortable and clean :goodvibes
