Hi everyone!

My family (husband and two-year old son) just returned from CBR last week and we had a really nice time. When I checked in, I had to wait in the longest line I had ever seen, but the check-in lady was more than nice and she managed to give me almost everything I requested (Martinique, non-smoking room, etc). The only thing I didn't get was a first floor room, but we managed anyway.

The best thing about this place was the room! It was beautiful and it was larger than the other moderates, which is a huge help if you have a child who needs the space for a crib. It was extremely clean and was full of nice little details that you would expect from Disney. The resort itself is beautiful and beachy....just what you'd expect, but it seemed so BIG AND SPRAWLING.

My largest complaint would be the bus stops. There are what seems to be 7 stops. Sometimes we would be first, sometimes we would be last....but it just seemed like it took 15 minutes just to get out of the resort before we were actually on our way to the parks.

Also, wasn't too crazy about the food court. Each place seemed to offer much of the same food fare. Not much variation between them at all. Also, the food court seemed a little small...you had the feeling of being in such cramped quarters. They also didn't serve those wonderful glazed donuts with the white icing and Mickey sprinkles that I so loved each morning while we stayed at Dixie Landings. So, I made do with their blueberry muffins.

Keep in mind, I've stayed at Dixie Landings (Port Orleans-Riverside) four times, so I guess I got quite accustomed to that place, so much so, that I just can't embrace another resort like I did DL.

I really missed Dixie Landing's (POR) food court and the neat surrounds of the place. We took the boat launch from Downtown Disney to Port Orleans Riverside and it was great! I've forgotten just how relaxing that boat ride is....so needless to say, it's just wonderful that it's back in operation again. I saw Port Orleans-French Quarter and it looks great. They've painted and spruced the place up so that it will look sparkly and new when it re-opens soon.

So, CBR really is a nice resort, but I don't think we'll return there. But I am glad that we tried out for ourselves.

FYI...Crowds at the parks weren't bad at all.

If you have any questions, I'll try my best to answer them.

Shannon

We've only stayed at All Star Sports and this year we decided to upgrade to a moderate and CBR. It's interesting that the things you point out as a downsid--food court and ubsesare the things that we always liked about All Star Sports. We usually did pretty well with the food court and buses were always there. And check-in was always fast for us, too. So, maybe since the buses and food court are important to us, All Star Sports may still be our best bet.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, maybe I'll reconsider.

Thanks and pixie dust to you Shannon!

Having stayed at CBR last Feb, I found the food court pretty convenient in the morning, with a decent selection. The food court is not meant to have your main meals, so it serves the purpose well. On the subject of buses, we had rented a car, but it sat in the lot the whole time because the buses were so regular. Sometimes at night it would be crowded on the bus, but what can you expect with everyone leaving the park at once? We also stayed in Martinique. When we go back to Disneyworld in Feb, I am staying elsewhere, only because I want to experience another hotel. The family wants to return to CBR.

I like the food court......

Glad you had a nice trip

We stayed at ASMo and CBR. We will be going to ASMu in Sept (DH talked me down from AKL). I really liked the AS food court and bus better than CBR also. CBR's room was very spacious and beautiful, but with just three of us the room size doesn't matter too much. I can't wait to try ASMu!!!!!

Leaving in about a week and a half for CBR. Can't wait! Everyone says to go to the Banana Cabana??? Any suggestions for a good tropical drink?
