Return to the Scene of the Crime: The Lurkyloos’ First Anniversary at WDW! New VIDEO!

i complete believe that Heidi and Tom look like that fly helicopters..I have seen her pictures when she is standing in the desert..I don't look like that on my BEST day!!

Carrie - Are you coming back to FL in May??

:sad2: Ugggghhhhhh! Once again I am stuck at work and can't see your photography! :sad2:

But, at least I can read your update! :thumbsup2 I agree with you that DVC should only be purchased if you can pay the costs up front. Otherwise it is not a good use of your Money. When I took the tour, they really pushed the financing, which I hated. I knew there was no way I planned to finance, so I asked him to stop, but he wouldn't.

Ironically, once I purchased a resale I ended up with the same guide who toured me. Not that I've used him for anything.

So - if DVC is in your future, I would recommend a BCV resale. There are listings everyday and the prices are dropping because of the economy! If nothing else, its fun to get the email list every day from the Timeshare store. So, never say never!

:wizard: Great update, but I am waiting for your DH to recover. Hope he does in the next episode!

Great update as ususal Carrie.
I know what you mean about being alone at Disney. We went for Eric to do the 1/2 marathon a few years ago & I went into MGM for the morning while he napped after & it felt really weird to be in the parks without him.
Patrick is such a sweety doing all those romantical envelopes for you :lovestruc
I like your plan for the bubble bath at BLT. I might have to steal that idea. :thumbsup2
Glad you got to meet up with more disers........I saw a post by Heidi about having a Mary Poppins tea party before her wedding & I really want to read about that being a huge MP fan. Will you help me keep an eye out for when she starts her trippie as I don't frequent the wedding boards too much.:goodvibes

you can order the Disney Collection sheets too! They had a catalog in the Boardwalk and I am getting a set of the 400ct for my birthday..they are just the white linens used on the beds, but they were sooo soft!! and they say "Disney!"

Where do you order those from? Straight from Disney? Or is there a retailer that carries them?

I don't know how I missed Tom and Heidi's Roots slideshow..but I am all teary! How amazing!

I know! They are such a striking couple – every shot is a keeper!

See what happens when you leave the sanctuary called Walt's World....

Lesson learned. We will never leave property again. :cutie:

The nail biting pic on the DVC loveseat had me cracking up. Another great update! The TOT display window pics were cool too. I cannot recall having seen photos of those before.

Yeah, I always blaze right by them. I think next time I want to do a tour of DHS like we did once at Disneyland: You just walk slowly up and down each side of every street taking in all the detail. It’s amazing the stuff you’ll see for the first time!

There's a perfume thread??:confused3

Over on the Weddings Board they’re talking about what to wear on the wedding day – fun stuff!

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2102919

True! And DF's restaurant makes the best Italian food :thumbsup2 , so you should definitely visit South FL Carrie! You have to try the Publix caramel cake slices or the slices with raspberry filling and cream cheese icing, or they have slices that are like chocolate everything, DF loves those.

Sold and sold! :thumbsup2 I would love to try the best Italian food, and I’ll definitely investigate the “chocolate everything” cake slices....

Must....eat...giant...oreo....!!!!! I now must visit dtd for that!

Ok, I have to try the giant oreo next trip.

I know – I wish I could find them someplace else. They make chocolate ones and peanut butter ones too!

aww Tom and Heidi look like great people. They would be fun to meet! I wish I could have met all of you!!!!

Those Oreos looked really good and now I am dying for some chocolate!

Woo Hoo!!! Its stalking Toni day next!!!! Im excited! :cool1: :cool1:

You are gonna laugh when you see how many times we just missed you places! And how much all the CMs seemed to know about your wedding!

Omg giant Oreo! Will LOVES Oreos! Do they have that anywhere at DL?? (You would know!). I usually nab him a gourmet rice krispies treat in CA, but if I can find this Oreo thing, he might just marry me :rotfl:

I wish we had a Goofy’s Candy Co. at our Dowtown Disney instead of Marceline’s – I haven’t seen these Oreos at Disneyland. They remind me of the GIANT individually wrapped Oreos Nabisco made in the ‘80s. They were so soft and delicious..... I think Goofy’s should sell the naked ones by the box!

Glad Patrick recovered (and kept his thinking cap on) and that you braved the big wide world all on your own to have some fun (and buy him treats). I need to read your updates one paragraph a day or something, because I am already drumming my fingers waiting for the next update!

I wish they were quicker to write – I’d definitely be posting more often! But noooooooo... I have to describe every last second down to the very last detail....

:rotfl2: :lmao:

Don't I WISH!!! ;)

Tom was able to view this, too (he has to get around the evil web sensing programs in Iraq!!) and said he definitely needs to have a "guy-meet!"

Oooh! Oooh! I’m so glad my trip report has been approved for use by the US Army! :rotfl: I think it would be great to get our fellas together for a play date – uh, “guy-meet.” I believe those DVC points of yours are good at Disneyland.... :rolleyes1

Carrie - Are you coming back to FL in May??

No, but I totally wish I were. It sounds like a really awesome time to be there anyway, and now that PassPorter’s doing its big meet at WDW, I feel like the kid who has to stay inside doing her homework... :sad2:

With all the talk about being disappointed about not buying into DVC, I thought I'd share a way to bring DVC to you. At least a wee little bit.

Sorry to go OT!

Thanks for the link! But if I buy these sheets, do I get an $18,000 tote bag? :rotfl2:

Yes! He’s all better the next day. Also, I am a lurkyloo over on the Timeshare Store, but I didn’t know they had email updates – thanks for the tip!

Sure! Her planning journal is here, and what brides do now is just start the trip report in the planning journal, so we’ll be sure to see it!

popcorn::

i will go home and look..you can buy a princess or pirate bed too!

Now, as far as Publix I've never had their cake before, but I can say they have really yummy fried chicken! So, if you're in the market for a heart attack try that next time you visit Orlando :rotfl:

Ok, not to highjack but I totally agree on this one! Try the chicken it is to die for!

Now about your solo day, first off very sorry that the Hubs was ill, hopefully he rested up for your next day of adventures. It looks like you had fun solo though! I would love to do a dinner by myself in WDW one day:)
Your oreo looks amazing btw... I am sitting here yearning to try Goofys in 25 days...

I'm glad you were able to have fun doing WDW solo. I did that one day when I went with my dad and he wasn't feeling well. It's different, but still fun!

P.S. I'll sell you my tote bag for $17,999 ;)

www.disneyresortcollection.com - I just bought the pillows today. They're heavenly! Someday I'll buy the bed.. it's so comfy!!!

Thanks for the research! I'll have to investigate... :magnify:

25 days? LUCKY! I think being at Disney solo is pretty fun. In fact, I used to read WDWPolyPrincess' reports and secretly wish I could go to WDW by myself too!

:rotfl: It sounds like such a good deal... :scratchin Can I pay you in installments over the next 10 years for 50 years' worth of tote-bag use? Just think how much the grandkids will enjoy it!

Ack! We’re on Day 6 already! What will I do with myself when I finish this report? Start posting OT about my daily life, I suppose.... “Tuesday: I sat in a cubicle all day. First, somebody ran up and hollered ‘Heyweneedyoutoproofthisletterthat’sgoingoutrightnownowNOW!’ [insert three pictures of letter from various angles]. Well, let me tell you how I felt about this letter...”

Today was Monday, and it was also DIS bride Toni’s wedding day! Considering how desperate I am to crash another Disney Fairy Tale Wedding, I did a terrible job of stalking Toni this day.

DH woke up bright-eyed and bushytailed AND none the worse for wear, so we went right back to having a fabulous anniversary trip. One thing I really liked about this trip was that we were (OK, I was) less concerned about getting to the parks for rope drop. We still managed to get there 20 or 30 minutes after they opened, but I didn’t feel the need to hustle us out of the house in the morning. And the crowd levels were no worse than they would have been at rope-drop – hooray!

We ended up spending the whole day in Epcot.

The forecast was for rain, so the first thing we did was ride Test Track twice in a row to beat the inevitable rain shut-down. Well, actually, the first thing we did was take a bunch of pictures along the way that I can’t think up funny captions for...

IMG_0121.jpg

IMG_0122.jpg

OK, so then we rode Test Track twice in a row to beat the rain. This time we had to go in the front way with the plebs instead of swankin’ it up with the secret GM Lounge entrance like we had in September.

IMG_0123.jpg

IMG_0124.jpg

Is it me, or is it HOT in here?

IMG_0126.jpg

IMG_0127.jpg

Aaaaah.... the open road!

IMG_0129.jpg

I like the meticulously detailed re-creation of a GM parking lot they made for this part!

IMG_0130.jpg

Whoohoooooooo!

IMG_0132.jpg

Test Track’s gift shop always seems to have something cool that you won’t find at every single other merchandise location. This time, DH turned up a neat-looking T-shirt with the Dinoco Gas logo on it and discovered a series of small versions of the big, overpriced Vinylmation figures we’d seen at Disneyland a few weeks earlier. They come in blind-item packaging, though, which means you don’t know which one you’re going to get until after you buy it. We later saw a guy buying an entire case of them at World of Disney ($10 a pop, 20 boxes per case) – I guess he really wanted to collect ‘em all!

The one DH wants

The one I want

IMG_0134.jpg

Just to show you how much better DH was feeling that day, the next ride he picked was Mission Space. .... of which we have no pictures. But this artwork from Spaceship Earth pretty much sums it up:

OK, first you get launched into space to go do some stuff, then you, like, float in space and fix a thing, and then... well, I don’t remember the naked guy, but maybe Gary Sinise got his kit off at the end but I just couldn’t tell cuz the screen was so small....

IMG_0140.jpg

After surviving the high-speed, turbulent, and abruptly resolved mission to Mars, we decided to take a slow-moving journey through history at Spaceship Earth.

IMG_0138.jpg

The pictures never turn out, but we always try to get a shot of this scene.

IMG_0142.jpg

I screwed up the part at the end where you tell the computer what you like to do and it shows you your future. I always answer exactly what I really want to do, so we always get the same picture....

Well, not exactly the same picture...

IMG_0143.jpg

So next time DH wants to do the answering so we can get a different kind of future.

This one looks.... uncomfortable

IMG_0144.jpg

Now that’s my kind of future!

IMG_0145.jpg

I agree that Goofy's should sell the oreos naked by the box.

Oreo Big Stuff, yum yum! I wish they still sold them in stores.

After Spaceship Earth, we poked our heads in the Disney Gallery, where I drooled over the Olszewski miniature of Cinderella Castle that I’m going to get one day when I’ve completed (and started!) my collection of his Disneyland miniatures and we’re all flying around in rocket cars and eating food from replicators (Me to replicator: “Sundae. No Way Jose. Peanut-buttery!”)

IMG_0147.jpg

We still had time to kill before the World Showcase opened (sheesh – we coulda slept in!), so I dragged DH over to Sunshine Seasons at The Land to get a slice of peanut butter chocolate cake for later.

Along the way we saw this odd bird trying to get some play with a lady duck:

IMG_0149.jpg

I think she’s hiding from him under the water in this shot
IMG_0150.jpg

IMG_0151.jpg

OK, you might want to be sitting down for this part: So we get to Sunshine Seasons and I start looking around for my peanut butter chocolate cake and... I can’t find it. So I asked the CM at the bakery counter and, according to her, they NO LONGER SELL IT!

Donde esta mi peanut butter chocolate cake?
photo-53.jpg

However, she also told us she’d worked there two years and never seen it, and I’ve had it there about four times since Feb. 08, so I think she might’ve been full of it. To add insult to injury, she told us they no longer allow newlyweds/anniversary couples to take a free cookie from the bakery case because now that there’s the stoopid “What will you celebrate?” campaign, everyone’s celebrating something.

RIP, peanut butter chocolate cake....

6dec107c.jpg

After this depressing news, we were so out of sorts that, without thinking, we picked up FastPasses for Soarin’ despite our M.O. that we don’t need to ride it at Epcot cuz we have it in California.

Finally World Showcase opened, and off we went to give it a thorough going-over. (That’s right, it’s taken me this long to describe our day and we’re only at 11am.)

To be continued...

OMG - you remember Big Stuff too?! :hyper: I loved everything about them, especially the name! :rotfl:

Um, P.S., everybody - there's a brand-new installment at the bottom of the previous page... I just accidentally buried it in my enthusiasm for Big Stuff Oreos... :lmao:

I saw this cake on your other TR and we tried to find it on our mid Dec trip and they didn't have it. :sad1:

oh! Tracy beat me to it!! I was FORCED to cook dinner before I could run upstairs and check my disneysheetporn book

and now that I have the "story" behind your blogspot..it all makes sense!! I love the peanutbutter thingy..i must try to find if they make it somewhere else in just 60 days from today!!!!
