Return to the Scene of the Crime: The Lurkyloos’ First Anniversary at WDW! New VIDEO!

..and another thing...I'm going to have to start reading this BEFORE dinner! If I wait until after dinner, all the yummy food pictures make me hungry.

My candy stash is taking a beating from this TR. And let me just say, that after looking at all the delish food from Jiko, Snickers really DOESN'T satisfy!

Mr.and Mrs.Fairie are adorable also!

Aww... :lovestruc Thank you!

I will attest that the scallops were better than a poke in the eye from a stick. They were actually some of the better scallops I had this trip (Le Cellier's were too peppery).

I don't really know if Rob liked the lamb, and I *AM* married to him! :rotfl2: He seemed more interested in my meal. He likes anything, though.

And Nathan's meal did look good in person. I can attest to that because I don't really like anything, and even I was interested! :rotfl:

You are quite welcome! and I will have to agree, if scallops are are over peppered they taste yucktastic! Although I hate anything over-peppered!

Short-ribs are sooooo yummmmmmy!

I finally made it over here to discover that I was already behind. I always getted sucked into taking safari pictures and vow that the next time I ride it I will just enjoy the scenery. I'm impressed that you survived the poachers that many times!

So, how come our shameless promotion (shirts, pins, talking about our wedding) only got us 1 free dessert in our 5 day trip; I guess we don't do enough self-promoting :rotfl: It came the day I wore the Epcot shirt from you, so I guess that must have given us the extra pixie-dust we needed!

i agree!!

I wore my DFTW lanyard everywhere and not a free dessert in site!!
(except for wedding cake..but I will ixnay on the akecay until aterlay!!)

I swear the celebrations pins put a damper on the whole free stuff given away! Darn the Celebrations theme for this year :lmao: Although we got lots of congratulations and happy anniversary wishes.

A U turn for the armadillos - that is definately an Oy to the Vey (OTTV)moment. Your day and night sounds fantastic!!!!!! I can't wait to read more! Keep it coming!

I LOVE your Trip Report so far. It looks and sounds like you had a great time! I can't wait to read more!!!

P.S. Your wedding pictures are amazing!! You looked sooo beautiful!

 Wow - thank you!

Excellent TR - again! Beautiful pictures.

It's awesome that you all got to meet up.
Did the poachers just give up and turn themselves in on the last safari when they saw you coming?
:lmao:

:rotfl: That's exactly what happened - I take it you've been on the safari before? ;)

:lmao: Yeah, sorry about that. Disney vacations are sorta all about the food for me!

Wow, folks, take note: This is high praise indeed! :thumbsup2

Short-ribs are sooooo yummmmmmy!

And how! I wish I had some right now, and it's not even lunchtime!

Ooh! Ooh! Do you have a pic you can post here? I'm impressed - nobody even noticed my shirts (but then they were hidden under three layers of clothing most of the time cuz it was so dang cold!).

I think I'm beginning to figure this out....

1) Part of it is as FigmentFan814 says - thanks to the new Celebrate! campaign, they seem to be reducing the amount of special shwag and increasing the amount of ho-hum, cheap-o "shwag" you have to PAY for, like the new crummy Celebrate! trinkets and cardboard Princess/Pirate loaf cakes.

For instance, we discovered that the free-cookies-for-honeymooners policy at Sunshine Seasons has been discontinued. :( It's prolly because now, thanks to the marketing campaign, nearly everybody who comes to WDW will be celebrating something...

2) As for free desserts, the pattern I noticed is that we only got free desserts at Signature Restaurants. I won't spoil the nominal surprise by tellling you how many we ended up getting, but let's just say I was glad we like to eat at Signature Restaurants. Regular sit-down restaurants (basically the ones that only require 1 Table Service Credit on the Dining Plan) and in-park places like Liberty Tree Tavern, Nine Dragons, and even the Brown Derby gave us nuthin', despite our shameless campaigning... :rotfl:

But this is only a theory - I've heard of people scoring free desserts at these places before. Maybe it's more to do with the Celebrate! campaign....

Typing as fast as I can!!! :surfweb: Oh wait... I think that smiley means I'm actually sitting on my butt surfing the Internets instead of writing my trip report.... :rotfl:

Kate got a free cupcake at The Plaza because we were celebrating her birthday

I have to tell you..that was the BEST cupcake!! Tasted like pure butter and sugar

We got a free cupcake at Crystal Palace. tasted disgusting! :headache:

joining..now i need to go back and read

I think you're right on several fronts. My parents were down for part of the same time as we were there and my dad was celebrating his birthday. He actually scored cupcakes at more restaurants as compared to our 1 dessert.

We got our dessert at Coral Reef which I am thinking might have had a lot to do with the 2 or 3 phone messages that I left seeing what we could do special since our reception had been in LSS :goodvibes Since they've done away with the diver it seems like the desserts are about all you can get there.

I had a similar problem with layers on several days where no one could see my shirt, but the day I work the Epcot shirt several people mentioned it. We got some great PhotoPass shots because of it too in the World Showcase. The guys actually followed us around in the countries and took a ton of shots, so thanks for the shirt it really helped out :thumbsup2 I'll post some pictures once I get them all loaded.

Armadillo?! I didn't know those were in Florida either! And you weren't even on the safari to see it! :rotfl:

Are you going to do a TR? I'd love to read it. :goodvibes

It must be splendid to have the Roots document your vacation with their fantastic photographs! I hope I can join the elite group of Root Brides someday. They are ridiculously amazing.

I have reservations for Jiko next month and your pictures have me super excited now! Is it sad that the main reason I want to go there is for the macaroni and cheese? I love that stuff. :rotfl:

I love the Roots. I follow their blog. They are a beautiful couple, with an amazing talent. I wish I could take pictures half that good.

What a great update.........loved the pictures of the mini-dis bride meet at AK. That must have been great fun.

Obviously, the Roots photos again are AMAZING!!!!!!

I have to try Jiko sometime & it sounds like such fun that you guys all went to dinner together. :goodvibes Maybe next time we are out your way we can have dinner too!!!!!!! It really is fun to meet fellow Disers & we truly enjoyed meeting you guys on our Dec trip.

Dillo's..............:lmao:

PS all these elephant photos reminded me to ask you what you finally decided to name that cute little fat elephant stuffie that you got..........inquiring minds need to know.
