Return to the Scene of the Crime: The Lurkyloos’ First Anniversary at WDW! New VIDEO!

I'm first.:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
I sooooo want to do this now. How awesome is that view of Illuminations. I will have to remember this & somehow sneak this in sometime on Eric.

You totally should! I would love to hear about it! (And maybe we'll just happen to be dining at Rose & Crown that night and you'll invite us!:rolleyes1 )

TRACY!! Come post your great pictures of that night!!

I'm afraid Tracy doesn't have any - when she whipped out her camera I pulled a Sean Penn, grabbed it from her, and smashed it while shouting "No pictures! NO PICTURES!!!" :rotfl:

Awww!!!! What a great anniversary! Also, thanks for providing the link to listen to Illuminations to listen to it while looking at the pictures. It actually brought tears to my eyes!

Mine too! I was listening while I was writing and was sniffling!

(and most of us wishing you could spend every day in WDW to write about it). :goodvibes

Sold! :hyper: Now I just need to find a wealthy patron to underwrite that lifestyle!

Carrie what beautiful pictures! You and Partick are both so photogenic. It looks like the surprise really paid off, and what a bonus that you got to share your party with friends. I can't believe that you only have two days left in your report :sad1: , what are we gonna read until you go back? Can you make up a report for us?

I was thinking about that, actually - do you think the DIS mods would let that fly? I could post pictures of me and DH in front of tempera-painted backdrops of various MK locales....:lmao:

I'm just stunned by all the great stuff you got to do. From Narcoossee's to the dessert party at R&C you pulled out all the stops. I wish I could get my DH to surprise me the way you surprised Patrick. (He's like Patrick, not big on surprises- planning or receiving.)
Great shots of the fireworks from both shows!

Thanks! You're getting us on the special-occasion trips, though. I'm sure a normal trip to WDW with us would be booooooooooorrrring! ("What, Expedition Everest again?!!" )

You husband collects pins? Look what I found in DH's jewelers box

In 1997 Central Florida had crazy wildfires and as a thanks to anyone who came up and volunteered, they gave them free tickets and cheap rooms in the Contemporary ..and I guess this pin...it is 2x4 and in MINT condition and even has a little foot on the back to make a stand...pretty cool rare pin!

Thanks for sharing - so your DH fought the wildfires in Central Florida? WOW! :cheer2:

Cheese, Meat, Cake and Illuminations. That's like the holy grail of Epcot right there.

:rotfl2: You said it!!! :thumbsup2

INCREDIBLE update! Great pics of course!! Patrick is gonna owe you big foreva!

Oh yes... oh yes... Thanks for reminding me! :goodvibes

That update was SO worth the wait! It was everything I'd imagined it to be (the photos were better, of course!). Such a great surprise! I'm going to show the entire thing to Jeff and then say 'hint, HINT' - really loud!

Also, write this number down, stick it on his forehead, and tell him to call it once he has a Disney resort reservation (preferably at BoardWalk Inn so you get Tess! ;) ): 407-828-3200

Ok, now hurry up and get to the part where you meet me :)

:rotfl: I think it happened the next day, right? Except knowing me and my long-windedness, it'll take three installments to get there! :teeth:

What a great day you guys had.
Beautiful pics too. I love the black and white one, of the fireworks.

We shared the story of DH puking around the world, Lacey and Eric had their own story about food poisoning on their honeymoon (jeez, you’d think WDW was a third-world country or something!)

Glad I wasn't the only one! :rotfl: When I was there a few years ago, I swear I got food poisoning from one of the turkey legs they sell at the carts.

The only problem with that theory is that the person who shared it with me didn't get sick. But that's just a technicality, right?

I still blame the turkey legs.

Oh, and Carrie? Your cake looks awesome - both the full-sized version and the mini. I've seen so many "generic" wedding cakes from the official Disney offerings, that your cake puts the faith back in me that they have much more extensive talents than they advertise ;)

I'm afraid Tracy doesn't have any - when she whipped out her camera I pulled a Sean Penn, grabbed it from her, and smashed it while shouting "No pictures! NO PICTURES!!!" :rotfl:

Um.. yes I do!

Okay.. that's it. Ready to hear about more cake!!!

The anniversary cake came out so lovely! I wanted to reach though the computer and grab myself a peice! (I wonder if Willy Wonka ever did any more work on that Wonkavision of his. It would come in awful handy right now!)

What a perfect anniversary!

Wow! That does look like the best fireworks view ever! Also, the cake looked amazing and the topper was incredible! Sounds like a great time!

Thanks for sharing - so your DH fought the wildfires in Central Florida? WOW! :cheer2:

yes..He is a Division Chief in a local fire dept ..Did you not even notice my "Reedy Creek Fire Rescue...protecting the World since 1971"??? I was given that by a RC firefighter in exchange for a shirt from DH's department.

I get asked by CM's if I am a CM when I wear it:cutie:

PS - this is so personal, but does Patrick have really soft hands? I say that picture and said "he looks like he has the softest hands evah!! hahaha

:rotfl: I think it happened the next day, right? Except knowing me and my long-windedness, it'll take three installments to get there! :teeth:

Yes, it was the next day, but I'm really enjoying your trip report so I'd be happy if it took ten installments to get there! We're all going to be sad when the report ends :sad1:

i am going to hijack..er, BUMP your thread

That is so awesome. 1997 was DS#1's first visit to Disney. We went to Daytona on the way home and it was during all the fires.

Thanks for your DH for helping fight the blazes.

Oh Carrie awesome! I am pretty excited to keep reading your TR! Even though you had to brave the cold, it looks like you guys still had a blast!

Disney has a great "cold-weather" sceme in the past few years... they seem to be selling blankets "when you spend $50...$40... whatever" I admit I have bought one on cold December nights myself, what a way to rack in some extra $$ WDW...

And sooo much fun meeting DisBrides! What is your DisBride total on this trip??

Wow Carrie, what awesome Illuminations pics!:cool1: They brought back memories of our Sept trip when DS & I had a lakeside table at R & C on our last night,:cloud9: we have since declared that we're going to make it a last night tradition like our 1st night tradition of dining at Ohana & watching the Electrical Water Pagent & Wishes...what wonderful memories. I know you & Patrick will cherish the time that you shared & you have some great pics to look at on each anniversary.

What a great day you guys had.
Beautiful pics too. I love the black and white one, of the fireworks.

I didn't include any other black & white ones cuz I'm a sucker for color, but they had some fabulous ones! :goodvibes

I was thinking the same thing! I wonder if (hope) making our cake was a fun experience for the baker cuz he/she got to do something a little more creative!

Um.. yes I do!

Oh drat! :rotfl2:

Oh my gosh - can you imagine? I'd be packing on the pounds from grabbing things off the DIS' food porn thread! :cutie:

Happy St Patty's Day Carrie & Patrick.
StPatricks-Mickey-Mouse1.jpg

Hey, thanks! I just told Patrick he's fortunate to have THE most famous saint day of anyone. :) I don't think there even is a Saint Lurkyloo...

You guys all look so happy!

:)

It was so much fun! :cloud9:

Wow! That does look like the best fireworks view ever! Also, the cake looked amazing and the topper was incredible! Sounds like a great time!

I can't even comprehend how they thought up the topper. Unfortunately, little bits crumbled off every time I touched it, so I wasn't able to save it.:sad1: In fact, I think I may have given that to Betsy too!

PS - this is so personal, but does Patrick have really soft hands? I say that picture and said "he looks like he has the softest hands evah!! hahaha

Yes, I can't believe it - his hands and feet are softer than mine, and I'm a LADY! :cutie:

Yes, it was the next day, but I'm really enjoying your trip report so I'd be happy if it took ten installments to get there! We're all going to be sad when the report ends :sad1:

Me too! I'm investigating the earlier suggestion of an imaginary trippie as a followup - hee hee!

That's so funny! They must make a lot more on those than ponchos....

And sooo much fun meeting DisBrides! What is your DisBride total on this trip??

That's a good question. How about I go back and count when the trippie's all done, just to give me something to look forward to! What I love was that most of the meetings were impromptu - there's no way I could have planned to meet that many people in just 10 days!

Wow Carrie, what awesome Illuminations pics!:cool1: They brought back memories of our Sept trip when DS & I had a lakeside table at R & C on our last night,:cloud9: we have since declared that we're going to make it a last night tradition like our 1st night tradition of dining at Ohana & watching the Electrical Water Pagent & Wishes.

That's a great idea - I'm stealing it! :teeth:

I have never, and I mean NEVER, seen such gorgeous pictures of Illuminations. I actually never knew it was that beautiful! Clearly I have never been in the right viewing spot! I'm going back to look at them again!

ha! I use to sell MK and we did the Satin hands thing as a party activity..now they have a kit?
I had tons of the sample size bottles and keep a jar of the Extra Emollient Creme next to my bed

I was going to say something funny about Patrick's hands being soft because they are always up a puppets butt...oops..there I did!

I  those photos too! I want to make a Blurb book just of our anniversary (never mind that I still haven't finished the one for our wedding...)

pirate: Speaking of soft hands...

My SIL bought me this for Christmas. It is AMAZING! I never use anything like this (If my skin ever gets lotion it is lucky) but it made my hands feel unbelievable!

Thanks for the tip!

What, you couldn't make a puke joke outta that?! :lmao:
