Return to the Scene of the Crime: The Lurkyloos’ First Anniversary at WDW! New VIDEO!

Poor Patrick. He really is a super trooper!!!!
I likey the looks of the treehouse villas & that's cool that they are going to be about the same points wise as a 2br.

Sorry Patrick was sick. My last trip to Disney World I think I got a virus, I think it was since my husband and I both ate the same thing. I was out of commission for two days.

Oh, that does NOT sound like a fun time! Poor Patrick and poor you too. Glad he's all better.

Kind of glad there were no real foodie pics, as the thought of all that hurling just wiped out any desire to eat!

I just read your entire report and love it so far. I had to come out of lurkdom and say that to was awesome to see you in my former stomping grounds of Winter Park. Huck is the cutest dog ever. The vet I used to take my cat to in Orlando has a giant picture of him being cute hanging up in their office. You, your DH and the Roots all look like fun, funny people :goodvibes

Kilwin’s featured prominently in our honeymoon, so it was fun to go back. They sell homemade ice cream and fudge – what could be bad? We walked in, and there were our pals Lacey & Eric sittin’ on the floor!

So.... what’re you guys doin’ down there...?

Kilwins.jpg

OK, not really – I just wanted to show you what Kilwin’s looks like! But we did end up running into them so many times on our trip that it’s highly probable they were there moments before us.

Y'know, we did plan to take our friends over to Celebration. I don't recall what day that was, but lord knows it was probably when you were there!

I have to say, the story of Patrick's sick day was even funnier in person. :lmao:

I'm sorry Patrick was sick, but Gosh, it sure made for a funny anecdote.. Sorry Patrick, I wasn't laughing AT you... but sort-of FOR you...yeah, that's it....

But I have also chimed in because I just have to say that TootWhistlePlunkBoom might be the BEST Disboard name I have ever seen!!!

Poor DH! I hope it was only a 24 hour thing. He was a trooper though! How long did the tour last? I've never done the DVC tour, but other ones can be so long and pushy!

I am caught up and I love your pictures of the wedding spots. Fabulous!

I hope you DH recovers quickly! I guess he passed on the free ice cream after the DVC tour! :lmao:

How do you get $100 for doing a DVC tour? - Sounds fun!! ;)

Hi Carrie, just got back on the Dis after a long absence & was delighted to find your trippie:yay: I've spent all morning catching up & can't wait to read more. :surfweb: Its snowing here in GA so even 60 degree weather at WDW sounds good.

Sorry your DH got sick, I got the flu on our Xmas 2007 trip and it was no fun at all.

Jiko! The atmosphere is great, the servers are top-notch, and the food is amazing. And there's only one steak on the menu. If you like fish, that thing we had a few pages back - the sturgeon - is amazing. The kind of fish they use changes, but the tomato-butter sauce is the same.

Oh, or Artist Point. It also feels very romantic to me, and the food is excellent. And Bistro de Paris is very romantic! Heck, I even think San Angel Inn is romantic, but that's cuz it's "night" there all the time. Oh wait, and California Grill! I just can't decide... :hyper:

I think we'll do Jiko on our AK day for dinner (and the breakfast buffet at AKL for... uh, breakfast.) California Grill keeps sticking in my mind as being super-romantic, so we might go there, but I *love* buffalo, and the venison spring rolls at Artist Point sound really good!

Thanks for your input!

So, here's what I need you to do for me. The next time you are writing a post like this one, I need you to put a disclaimer at the very beginning. One that reads:
"To all my pregnant readers out there: I am about to tell you a story that involves a heck of a lot of upchuck. Now, I know that you are very familiar with upchuck, given that you spend most every waking moment either doing it or trying not to. So, I know you gals can handle it. I will, however, also be showing you pictures of a ginormous peanut butter and chocolate milkshake which I have no power to share with you. I realize that this will send you into a hormonal meltdown, the likes of which your DH/SO/local SWAT team have never seen, so I want you to be prepared. DO NOT proceed with reading this trippie unless you are armed with a sufficient amount of Reese's Cups Easter Eggs, or have the nearest Dairy Queen on red alert. Thank you for your time."

I speak on behalf of all the DISer preggos when I say we appreciate it.

poor patrick!! how horrible to be sick and tossing his cookies all over WDW! And the poor DVC Cm. :rotfl: poor lady...i'm sure she was freaking that he'd puke all over the THV model! :lmao:

:lmao: That's awesome!

Haha, the DVC lady was so worried, that's funny... I wonder what she would have said if you were coming to HER house, she'd probably cry?

Also, Kelsey's random fact of the day: No such thing as the '24 hour flu', if it's gone that fast, it's usually food poisoning.

So where did you guys eat the night before???

Sorry about DH tossing his cookies all over. Do you know what causes it? Lol. Poor DVC CM.

We think it was probably food poisoning. :scared:

greatest

laundry

set

ev-ah!!

when you posted the photo and asking about the leftover soap, I didn't have a chance to respond before I left ...no soap should remain in the dispenser after the load

Hmmm… I guess DVC needs to take better care of the Greatest. Laundry Set. Ev-ah!

Unfortunately there was lots of upchuck on our trip last month, too. From me!! And it was on my BF's birthday!
Hope he got over it quickly! :flower3:

Oh no! I’m so sorry to hear you were ill too! I think it won’t be scooping the next installment too much to tell you that DH recovered by the next day.

Love the installment. Even DH had to come over and see the pics of SAB empty. It's our favorite pool ever. Poor Mr. Lurkyloo. he sounds just like my DS though. Once he tosses the cookies he's GREAT. He's 15 and we've been thru it all. From previously assocaited live in TN. We ahve to cross a curvy mountain to get anywhere. DS can tell you along the way of where he lost his cookies. I know way TMI.

:cutie: No, it makes me feel better about sharing our gross story!

Sorry your Dh got sick! I think my DH would have perservered if at all possible for $100 also!

Smart guy! :thumbsup2

I also know what it's like to carry around a plastic baggie - after thoroughly checking it for holes...

:rotfl:

(How come we never get offered DVC tours for freebies at DL?? Is a hotel stay required for them to offer that, or can you inquire at one of the stands?)

I think you have to be staying at a hotel – we got a card in our room at the Grand Californian when we went for my birthday in ‘07.

We bought DVC at about the same time Carrie was there (we purchased Jan 30, 2009) and we got $30 worth of gift cards, free ice cream, and an $18,000 tote bag

:rotfl2: HIGH-larious!!! And yes, the free ice cream is coming up… I mean the story is! The ice cream stayed down…

Just finished catching up on your TR, I was so behind...

I feel sooo bad for your DH. I can relate to the feelings of sickly embarassment in Disney World. About 3 three years ago after eating lunch at the Grand Floridian Cafe we went to MK and at the beginning of Main Street all of sudden I got the worst stomach pain ever and got really dizzy and the next thing I know I passed out cold right there in MK on the concrete

OMG – I can’t believe you actually hit the deck – owie ow ow! I’m glad it worked out OK, what with the free water and all – hee hee!

Oooh, I'm so sorry to hear that Patrick was so sick. What a trooper!!

Seriously! I prolly shoulda given him the gift card to spend as he pleased, but I know he would have blown it all on pins and Vinylmation stuff. ;)

Poor Patrick. He really is a super trooper!!!!
I likey the looks of the treehouse villas & that's cool that they are going to be about the same points wise as a 2br.

Yes – I would love to stay in a treehouse villa!

Sorry Patrick was sick. My last trip to Disney World I think I got a virus, I think it was since my husband and I both ate the same thing. I was out of commission for two days.

Oh no – I’m sorry to hear that! I guess it happens a lot more than one would think…. :sad1:

Oh, that does NOT sound like a fun time! Poor Patrick and poor you too. Glad he's all better.

Kind of glad there were no real foodie pics, as the thought of all that hurling just wiped out any desire to eat!

No more hurling from now on! :flower3:

I just read your entire report and love it so far. I had to come out of lurkdom and say that to was awesome to see you in my former stomping grounds of Winter Park. Huck is the cutest dog ever. The vet I used to take my cat to in Orlando has a giant picture of him being cute hanging up in their office.

Wow – that is really cool! I think Huck must officially be a celebrity dog.

Y'know, we did plan to take our friends over to Celebration. I don't recall what day that was, but lord knows it was probably when you were there!

I have to say, the story of Patrick's sick day was even funnier in person. :lmao:

I know, when I wrote it, the story just didn’t come out as funny as it is in the telling! :sad2: I think maybe one needs to see Patrick’s reenactment of the event(s) to really get a laugh….

I'm sorry Patrick was sick, but Gosh, it sure made for a funny anecdote.. Sorry Patrick, I wasn't laughing AT you... but sort-of FOR you...yeah, that's it....

Oh good – so it was kinda funny in writing, I guess! :)

Poor DH! I hope it was only a 24 hour thing. He was a trooper though! How long did the tour last? I've never done the DVC tour, but other ones can be so long and pushy!

Let’s see – I think we were there about an hour and a half? It’s not too bad, really. I’ve heard horror stories about real timeshare presentations, where they won’t let you leave and they call you afterward and ICK!

I am caught up and I love your pictures of the wedding spots. Fabulous!

I hope you DH recovers quickly! I guess he passed on the free ice cream after the DVC tour!

Yes, poor guy – and he LOVES ice cream!

How do you get $100 for doing a DVC tour? - Sounds fun!! ;)

There was a card with the offer in Jennifaerie & Rob’s room at Animal Kingdom Lodge, and then we got one in our room at Wilderness Lodge. Otherwise, you just get $30 gift cards, I think.

Hi Carrie, just got back on the Dis after a long absence & was delighted to find your trippie:yay: I've spent all morning catching up & can't wait to read more. :surfweb: Its snowing here in GA so even 60 degree weather at WDW sounds good.

:wave2: Welcome back! I’m glad you’re enjoying the trippie! But sorry to hear about the flu at Walt Disney World – what a nightmare! :sad2:

I think we'll do Jiko on our AK day for dinner (and the breakfast buffet at AKL for... uh, breakfast.) California Grill keeps sticking in my mind as being super-romantic, so we might go there, but I *love* buffalo, and the venison spring rolls at Artist Point sound really good!

Oooh! Good choice! I am jealous. ;)

So, here's what I need you to do for me. The next time you are writing a post like this one, I need you to put a disclaimer at the very beginning. One that reads:

I speak on behalf of all the DISer preggos when I say we appreciate it.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I do humbly apologize to those my pregnant readers for inflicting grievous injury upon them with my story.

And don’t worry – the forthcoming picture of free DVC ice cream is not appealing at all!

poor patrick!! how horrible to be sick and tossing his cookies all over WDW! And the poor DVC Cm. :rotfl: poor lady...i'm sure she was freaking that he'd puke all over the THV model! :lmao:

Yikes – can you imagine? Wait, no, don’t imagine…

Also, Kelsey's random fact of the day: No such thing as the '24 hour flu', if it's gone that fast, it's usually food poisoning.

You know, that’s what I’ve heard too! Maybe it was the fig & prosciutto flatbread from the night before – it’s the only meal that DH and I didn’t share. Curse you, Orlando’s Civic Dish!!!!!

I shake my fist at that dish for making Patrick so sick! Good thing you didn't share it! But, why would you? It had fruit on it! Bleh. Anti-Fruitarians Unite!

I feel so bad for your DH. That's the kind of attention you don't need. I'll bet that DVC rep was mortified. He did get better, right?

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I do humbly apologize to those my pregnant readers for inflicting grievous injury upon them with my story.

And don’t worry – the forthcoming picture of free DVC ice cream is not appealing at all!
I will pass the apology along to the poor girl at Dairy Queen who had to bear the brunt of my total conniption fit! Imagine Linda Blair with a big belly and a worse hairdo.
