Return to Queue (take a picture?)

This article appeared on my news feed and I am curious if anyone has experience with this.

A member of our team recently applied for DAS and when they were denied, they were offered Return to Queue as an alternative option. But since they are only traveling with one other person, the cast member recommended they take a picture of where they were in line before exiting the queue.


They were instructed to then show that same picture to the attraction cast member who would then escort them back to their spot in line based on that picture.

So now everyone is going to have a picture for every que and jump lines that way. I dont see this ending well.

Someone on the disABILITIES forum reported that the photo is no use. The CM didn’t know what to do with it. The procedure is to rejoin the party via the LL (or maybe the exit at DL).

What if there is no one to rejoin, like you are solo?

I’ve only seen 1 report so far (WDW) and that solo individual was sent through the LL. It’s also possible a return time could be given. It’s important to ask a CM when leaving the queue.

And there lies the problem, for me, stopping to talk to a CM could be the difference between making it to the restroom and well not.

Then I suggest speaking to the CM when you enter the queue and ask the procedure if you need to leave quickly. If they want a picture then do that, but I haven’t seen a single report that taking a picture was needed or even useful. It seems to be an odd suggestion from a phone CM who isn’t trained about in-park procedures.

I agree that it seemed odd, that’s why posted. I was curious to see if anyone had any experience with it.

I will try for DAS before my next trip, which is over a year away. I fully expect to be denied but I also want to discuss then alternatives, which my then should be all worked out and hopefully streamlined.
