Return to Magic - Brown's suprise trip to WDW

I found in mid June that I would be attending a technology conference at WDW again, in mid-October. I went last year and DW and I spent two days by ourselves. We decided this year to being the kids after the conference AND to not tell the older two kids.

We are staing at the Yacht Club. I will be done there all week and then they will arrive on Friday with a four day stay. The two older kids will miss two days of school.

In the ensuing months, we manage to keep the secrets from the older two. They think they are heading to their granparents, while picking me up on the way.

I flew down to Orlando from Charlotte on 10.8 on UsAirways. I was heading with a bunch of folks from work and was playing touring guide. My flight was suppose to leave at 4:10. We left at 7:05. In fact, the flight after ours with more folks from work left on time at 5:45 and almost landed before we left. US Airways never told us the problem. We got down to MCO by about 8:45 and checked into the Yacht Club at 10. We decide to walk over to the Boardwalk and eat the Big River Grille.

I finally get dinner at 10:35. Not a happy camper.

The rest of the trip was focused on the conference with two exceptions.

The conference had MGM one night from 8 to 11. I take some foks around, as we hit Muppets, Star Tours, ToT and RnR in two hours before watching Fantasmatic.

The next day I go into MK after lunch to hit a few rides and then over to AK for EMH. First ride ever on Everest and I really like it. It is a very intense ride and very well done. And I did Kali river twice in row, without getting off. How wet was I.

One observantion was the number of Orthodox Jews in town in this week (week of 10.8.06). Any news?

Friday finally got here; but before Friday I need to relay something that happened Thursday night.

The room next to me had a family there celebrating something. Mom and daugthers got back at 11:15. Drunk and Loud. I waited for an hour and finally walked into the hall (they had neighboring rooms but not adjoining) and told the daughters to quiet down.

They get upset and even louder. They finally quiet down around 1am. I decide right then that I need to change rooms. So the next morning, I arrange to change rooms. We move from 3177, a room right over the entrance and waterview to 3053, still a waterview but down a ways. It is much quieter.

The kids and wife arrive late thanks to US Airways again. They are so excite. The older two had no clue until half way to the airport.

We swim that night and have the buffet at Gulliver's at the Swan. This is was a good restaurant, with the wife and kids enjoying the crab legs.

We visit the Boardwalk and then get to bed by 10. Early night.

Great surprise. My husband just had a conference in Atlanta Georgia, last week. I told him to keep an eye out for anything in Orlando, LOL.
