Return to HOJO or try Carousel?

We are planning to go back to Disneyland in March. We were there in March 2013 and stayed at HOJO. We were happy there and didn't mind the walk. My kids were 9 and 6 at the time and now being 12&9 it is not an issue. We only ended up using the waterpark once which was the reason I book there at the time. Oh well. When pricing out packages, I see there is not that much difference between the HOJO and the Carousel. I remember exactly where the Carousel is and know it is closer to to crosswalk. If you have been to the Carousel, what are your thoughts? Stay where I have been before or move slightly closer? DH says he is fine either way. Thanks!

Oh, another question: what exactly is different about the "Club room" versus a regular room at the Carousel and is it worth it?

Thanks. I looked there but was hoping someone had been to both and could compare. :)

We stay at the Carousel all the time and enjoy it. It's much closer to the crosswalk, like you said. We like eating at the Pizza Press, which is right next door. I can't answer your question about the club room. We've only stayed in the regular double queen rooms, which are always clean and the staff is nice. :) Oh, I forgot to mention, I've stayed at the HoJo, but prefer the Carousel because of the closeness to the crosswalk. If the rate is better, I'd give the Carousel a try.

I prefer Carousel to Hojo, though both are nice. I am not sure about this, but as I recall, there isn't much extra to the Club room unless you get the club suite (which is larger). I think the Club room might be slightly larger and has laminate flooring, but we've had several different rooms, all standard, and some were larger, some had laminate flooring, etc. I wouldn't pay much extra for a club room, personally. As Disneyluvr2 said, the Pizza Press is right there and their food is delicious and very inexpensive. The pizzas are $10 no matter how many different toppings you choose, and they have a wide variety. 1 pizza will feed 2 people unless they are big eaters.

Great! Thanks! Will price things out again and see what the difference is. :)

We are huge fans of the Carousel. We have stayed there three times for a week each over the last few years.

I love the hardwood floors. I'm a bit of a clean freak with hotel rooms, and have always been happy with Carousel. Rooms are modern, and the continental breakfast was decent.

I'm glad that there are some good reviews on the Carousel, since I've read a few bad ones over the years. I would compare pool time, grounds, etc., but deciding factor for me would be the cost. Carousel is closer to the pedestrian walkway if that is also factored in your decision.

We stayed at the Carousel between Christmas and New Years are our room was carpeted. Do only some rooms have hardwood?

We had club rooms so maybe just those? The last time we stayed our whole family came (3 separate rooms) and all of them had hardwood and white duvet covers on the bed (washed regularly - not like comforters)
