Return of the Old Folks' Van - A May 2013 Trip Report - Updated 11/18

I wondered if something were up since you haven't posted on the Dis or on Facebook recently. Congrats on the teaching job! That's awesome!

Hooray! Hooray! I was so afraid this thing would be shut down once I finally got a chance to log back in...

Congratulations on your teaching job!!! I completely understand busy life robbing you of Dis time!! :rotfl2:

Thanks! pixiedust:
Isn't it a shame that it's not always Dis time? :lmao:

You would make a great Mentalist or Sherlock Holmes, Lisa! You'd probably be able to narrow it down to the day I began work, :rotfl2:

Thanks - I am really enjoying it. It's a lot of work, but I don't regret my decision! :)

When last we left, it was Disney 24, and we had yet to step foot into the Magic Kingdom.

(Dont you hear the dramatic background music?)

We were back at Old Key West and we were hungry. We stopped off at Goods Food to Go (the counter-service place at the back of the resort, near the water)

We explored the area a bit and found there was quite a bit to keep us occupied while we waited on our food to be prepared.

The Community Hall was out there and the kids went inside to rent paddles and ping pong balls for the tables that were located right outside.

We also played this game with the sandbags, but Im not sure what to call it:

We also explored more. The pool was also in the area. On the pathway to the pool:

Hot tub!

Sitting at one of the picnic tables, near the water, waiting for our food:

It was a beautiful night!

We discovered they had shuffleboard as well, although we did not play it that night. Games, wandering around the beautiful grounds, and just taking in the sights kept us busy until our food pager went off. We then returned to our room to dine on turkey sandwiches, pizza, and chicken nuggets: every diners dream meal.

**(And wouldnt you know itIm having trouble logging in to Flickr&grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr)

Im going to keep on with the narrative, however. Ill catch you guys up on photos (hopefully!) soon.**

I made a note that night of what a great day it had been. We were not in a hurry and had seen and experienced so much. I even noted that there were low crowds and wondered if everyone else was in the Magic Kingdom. Then I wrote, Hopefully, well find out soon!

And we would, dear readers, we would!

Finally (finally, it seemed to me, finally!) we trekked to the bus stop. The time was 10:25 pm. Woo Hoo!

At that time, we are usually still in a park (or wrapping up a visit, depending on park closing hours - we are night owls, after all) not just heading to one excitement, people!

**I know I have several bus stop and late night bus pictures, curses!**

But, hooray! Here they are:

At 10:30 the bus pulled up and we were off to the Magic Kingdom!

Late-night bus ride:

We reached the Magic Kingdom at 11:05-ish, just in time to gather at the Hub to view the Castle show.

It is pretty awesome, in case you were wondering!

**And just like that, I logged on! (Im going back now to add photos, but will leave the documentation of my Flickr troubles for atmosphere.)**

And now that Ive added the photos, Id better wrap up the installment, lol!
At least you finally know that we did, in fact, make it to the 24-hour party. This time, Ill leave you wondering which attraction we visited first&

**Denotes historical data, recorded in real-time, before editing to add photos.

Hopefully, you guys had more luck with the crowds than we did with the 24 hours of fun at Magic Kingdom. The later it got in the evening/morning, the better the crowds.
