Return of the castaway club blue sling backpack?

Just saw on FB that DCL is giving out the old blue sling backpacks again on the Magic. Wonder why - guess they are out of the white castaway beach bags. Not excited to receive those blue backpacks again - hoping they are short lived.

And an admin of the group said they were also being given out on the Wish. The original poster said she got the old blue sling backpack plus the new wet dry bag and new lanyards. Very odd.

I got off the Magic this AM and they were still giving out the newer CC bags… I am Pearl so I got everything that comes with it and saw others with new bags… I did see a few people using the slings but I think they brought it with them

I think I am one of the few DC fans that LOVES the sling bag and wouldnt mind getting another one, but that being said I do like the new bags that they are giving out on the Treasure.

You get the gifts at each level: Silver is either a sling bag (apparently) or a beach totebag; Gold is a wet/dry bag; Platinum is a towel

Not necessarily. Last year as platinum member on the Magic I received a cooler bag instead of the new white bag. While silver members in a different stateroom I became friends with got the white bag. The cruise after that (funnily they also did a B2B like I did) both our staterooms got the new white bag.

Seems others on your sailing received the blue sling bag. They were lower castaway level.

Crazy that DCL is giving the old sling bag to silver and gold castaway members. According to the FB post.

It's true...just off the Magic this AM. We're platinum and received the sling backpack. Was slightly bummed as I didn't pack a beach bag, but we made it work.

Got off the Magic 4/25 and we're silver. Got the old sling bag and also the old, basic lanyards. I saw other folks with newer pieces onboard but not sure if they were bringing them from home or if there was a mix of new and old style being given out.

We're newer cruisers and have only ever gotten the white bags, so we like the "throwback" of the sling bags but I can totally understand folks being disappointed.

Luckily we got the new white bags on the Wish a couple weeks ago. If we received the sling bags again, we would just leave them in the stateroom like we have done before. DCL really bought way too many of those sling bags.
