Retaurant Marrakesh ?

Too bland for my taste. Tried it twice and came away both times disappointed.

(feel better, mitros?)

Thanks, I felt quite all alone on this thread! :)

Hi Mitros--

I'm with you too. We hated this restaurant! I was so disappointed because I'd been waiting so long to try it, and I was really looking forward to something different.

First of all, it was completely empty when we went there. There were only two or three other tables, and it just felt creepy, like how you feel when you're the last table at a restaurant at closing time. LOL

The food was very disappointing as well. DH got the shish kabobs, which he said were just okay, and DS and I split the sampler plate for two. Both of us ended up only eating the salad. The bastilla was very dry and had a strange consistency that we didn't care for. We ordered the Crepes Casablanca for dessert, and that was just okay too. The scoop of icecream they put on top was tiny!

Our service was marginal at best. The server was competent, but barely uttered two words to us. He never checked back to see how we were doing, and dropped the check before he cleared our dinner plates. I had to tell him that we still wanted dessert and he seemed a little put out :(

Hate to be negative here, maybe we just caught it on a bad day, but we felt like we wasted our money here and DS and I left hungry!

Thanks! You hit the description right on the head, and I couldn't have said it better. "Strange consitency" is the description I would have given the food there if I would have thought of it! :)

I can't recall the times for the bellydancer. We're interested in a dinner time. Does anyone know about when the dancer is there? Or, where I can find that information? WDW-Dine did not know nor was it on the official website.

What a great lead. Thanks.

How often does this fellow Steve post those dates/times?

How far in advance, too?

We ate at Marrakesh this week. If you go you should coordinate your time with the belly dancer times. My 11 year old son was pulled on to the dance floor by the belly dancer. She showed him how to dance. I think this will stand out as one of my sons favorite memories. The belly dancer was gorgeous by the way.

Belly dancers are there Tuesday through Saturday at 12:40, 1:40, 2:40,, 4:40, 6, and 6:50.:goodvibes

No bellydancers on Sunday! I'm a good Baptist, but we will be bummed if we don't get bellydancers! ;)

jeankeri, DisneyFanatik, Alice Sr., Mitros:

Thank you for all your help with the show time at Marrakesh.

I went to Scott's page and it did not list the same times that Mitros offered here. May be the times have changed (?)

My info was from Steve Soares site. What is Scott's page?

Sorry, Mitros. I meant Steve Soares' site. I clicked on Morroco and saw:

12:50, 1:50, 2:50, 5:00, 6:00, 7:00, and 8:10.

It also states: Bellydancing begins 10 minutes after the show begins

The show lasts 25 minutes.

Since your times, Mitros, are 10 minutes off, I was wondering about the discrepency. Either the times change or you are responding to the bellydancing only or something....

I checked this last night and just now. I did not notice if it was this week's listing or for the future months or what. So, that also might account for a discrepency.

Anyway, Steve Soares website is helpful, isn't it? Do you know what day of the week he updates it?

KIS

Maybe the 10 minute difference is from when the musicians come out until when the dancers come out. Yes, his site is great. There is also another really good site for Disney info. It's: www.allearsnet.com They have a wealth of information. My favorite is the menus page. You can find out what is being served at each restaurant before you make PSs. We find it to be a big help.
