resturants for NYE

We will be flying into Orlando on Dec 31st at 5:30 PM and would like some recommendations. We have never been on NYE and have heard it will be crowded. Should we waste a ticket and go to a park? We will probably not get there before 7PM by the time we get rental car and check into hotel.. Will we even be allowed in a park that late? We are staying at the Boardwalk.. I want to make PS dining for that evening.. Where should we go? I was thinking maybe the Grand Floridian or Poly and then watching the fireworks from the beach... Maybe whispering Canyon and then taking the boat to Contempory. Should I just stay at the Boardwalk and watch the Fireworks at Epcot from there? Will Disney Studio have fireworks? I've would welcome any suggestions...

We were there last NYE and will be there this year also. I think you will find it very hard to get a PS now because most people have done so at 90 days(were are at BD in MGM). You will not be able to get into MK at 7pm if the trend from last year cont.(they were closed to all , including resort guest by afternoon). We entered Epcot around 5pm after the morning at MGM. We had ps in Japan for 7:30pm and still had to wait almost an hour tl be seated. The Boardwalk had entertinment for kids(clown, juggler) so maybe hit that and watch the fireworks at epcot from the bridge? You will have a hard time finding NO crowds. There is also a NYE dinner and party at Dolphin for both adults and kids and Epcot has a Rock and Roll dinner party in old Millenium Village(they did last year, but I have not heard about it this year).

We are staying at the Swan and they do have a few things 2 do but since we are not big eaters we decided to hope over to BWto Spoodles for around 8:00pm we have a PS. I believe there will be plenty of resort meals open. I personally wouldn't want to take on the crowds in the parks. Pleasure Island also has a NYE party.

I think you are correct in trying to avoid the parks. You will have to wait and see if you are able to get into one at that late hour your chances are slim. You do need to call wdw dining NOW and just see what they have available as many have already made their Ps for that evening and your choices will be limited.

They had PS opened for both the poly Kona cafe and whispering canyon at Wilderness lodge... Are the fireworks better then normal at the Magic kingdom if we watch them from the beach??? Are they better then normal fireworks at Epcot if we watch them from the bridge???

Epcot's and MK fireworks are more than the usual. It's special for the holiday.
