Can anyone help me out and recommend a few good resturants on disney property?

We will be having our wedding 8/28 and we will be there for i believe 7 days that week. But we also live an hour from disney so we are using the AP and just wanting different places to eat. We both have been there many times especially growing up and taking familiy vacations with each of our own families as we didnt live in FL so that was the huge vacation all the time.

:surfweb: Just want to try new places.

WOW were do I begin. Every restaurant except Fulton's Crab House in Downtown Disney was great.

princess: Cinderella's Royal Table (In MK) is a must I think for any honeymooning couple. We got treated like royalty. Our table was laid out with special confetti and the Fairy Godmother wished us a long and happy life together. The food was excellent; I had salmon which was delicious. And my desert of a pear with ice cream was heavenly.

:yay: Crystal Palace (In MK) this was fun. We took the wedding party here the night before the wedding. My mom is a great fan of Piglet. We got to the Crystal Palace and the table was laid all out with streamers and Mickey confetti. It’s a buffet restaurant which was good as it had a lot of selection. The characters spent five minutes at your table. They go around the restaurant for party time in a conga line. It is nice if you have someone that isn't that keen on Disney in your party, as seeing their face and the characters they start to get into the Disney rhythm.

:cheer2: Chef Mickey’s (In Contemporary Hotel), this was nice just before everyone started to turn up for the wedding. It was just me and fiancée then, having a last meal before the chaos. I drank 3 chocolate milkshakes and eat far too much; I got carried away with all the fun. Mickey and the gang visited the table just like Crystal Palace. Donald wasn’t very happy when I told him I was getting married and started to purpose and introduced me to the next table as his wife. It was so sweet. We got special dinner mats.

:woohoo: California Grill (In Contemporary Hotel) – WOW is all I can say. The waiter could not do enough. As soon as we got there we didn’t have wait for a table. I love Cherry Coke Cola in America and it is all I drink when I go to Florida, the waiter said they didn’t have it but he would be back. He came back with this non-alcoholic cocktail with a cherry coke flavor. It was lovely. The food was excellent and the waiter timed the food for us to go and watch wishes from MK park. It was the first time my new hubbie and I tried sushi and the waiter explained it all and then told us what he recommended. It’s a fantastic restaurant.

:) The Polynesian Lula (In the grounds of Polynesian Hotel) – The food was excellent, the show not really our sort of taste. My hubbie jokes about going back and sampling the food again from there just for the taste of the ribs.

:sad2: Fulton's Crab House (In Downtown Disney Area) - Avoid this one. The food was still frozen. We booked this for our reciption lunch after our wedding, we were told about balloons and special wedding party table. When we got there, we got force into a corner (not easy with my dress on). Then they move the table sidewards halfway through the meal to get a family with buggies passed and onto the small table behind us. They also add their own grautity to the bill of 25% whether you like the food or not. No special treatment or decorations.

When we go back in May next year we are going to sample more restaurants the service was amazing. But remember if you book any restaurants in the Disney Area, mention it is your wedding :bride: and you might a little special treatment.

I agree that is all i drink as well!!!

We are trying out boma and ohanas when we go for our planning session in feb.

We are flying out on your wedding day and then get married on the 2nd sept!!

Ohanas (Polenysian) is wonderful. If you don't mind a late dinner (at around 8:30pm) you can catch the Wishes fireworks while you eat.

Artist Point (Wilderness Lodge) is another one of my favorites. The Cedar Plank Salmon there is exceptional. :)

You've probably been to all my favorites... Kona Cafe and 1900 Park Fare for breakfast. Then Ohana, Whispering Canyon, and the restaurant at Japan (they just changed the name).

for our first dinner as a married couple we wanted a diffrent resturant as well. we both work for disney so we have eaten at almost all of the resturants. so we decided to try BOMA at animal kingdom lodge. It was so yummy. you have to want something out of the ordinary but the menu was huge and i like the desert alot. o and the soups.

if you wanted a sit down i hear jiko is so scrumptiouse as well

good luck choosing

are you able to order room service at the poly? stupid question, probably, but i'm just wondering, that would be a nice way to spend our wedding night before we go to pi with our friends!

You can order room service at poly! I'm sure it would be very romantic!

Wow. I'm sorry you had such a bad experience at Fulton's. I have only eaten there once, but I would say that Captain Jack's was worse, their food was too expensive for the quality.

Depending on how big your party is they automatically add on a higher gratuity, because it is a lot of work to handle such a large group. I don't know how big your group was but I think its when your party is over 12 people. I would have said the Portobello Yacht Club would have been a better choice, much more classy. They offer free wine tasting to decide what you would like with dinner.

I love the idea of ordering in from the hotel. Our first night together will be at the GF. I am planning to order in. I am also thinking of getting chocolate covered straberries and wine. i think it would be a memorable night! Other good places are Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace
