Restricted points, How to know.

Some time ago I bought some resale points.

So is there any way to tell on the DVC member website if these points are some of the restricted points or not?

Or do I just have to call and check on exactly when I bought the points?

If you closed on your resale after March 20, 2011, they are restricted points in that they cannot be used for certain Disney Collections such as the WDW hotels other than DVC and the cruise. That restriction applies to all resales that were not closed by March 20, 2011. If you closed on or before that date, they are unrestricted points.

Not that I'm aware of. I believe only MS can that information.

Well that is not very good for me!

I will have to be very careful with my points in the future if I ever want to try and use them for some of the restricted trips!

I know that when I log on to see my contract info it says additional purchaser and we bought resale. My mother in law bought direct and hers says purchaser.

The easy way is play dumb and call member services and try to book a one of the restricted properties, if they say no then you know how its coded...if they say yes.... tell them you have to call back to confirm

I did look at one contract info that I know was purchased before the deadline and owned by me personally and indeed it does just say, purchaser.

The other contract I bought with my LLC and it just says "Officer", no "Additional"

I guess I will just have to call MS!

If you know the contract number of the recent resale purchase, you should be able to see the points in that contract since they will show up online as a separate contract in your membership. You'd at least know how many points have been used from that contract.

Calling MS is rthe easiest way to know exactly though.
