Just back from short Memorial day weekend trip and I thought I'd let everyone kow where we ate.

Stayed 1 night at All star movies and ate at the food court there. They had a nice variety of foods, although my family opted for a quick pizza meal. The pizza was not as good as the pizza at AKL's Mara, but we still thought it was ok. By the way, this food court is a madhouse--very busy with long lines, but large seating capacity.

Plaza restaurant in Magic Kingdom--My DH ate Chicken club and it was delicious! Very flavorful. DS's ate mini cheeseburgers and said they were good. I had the steak sandwhich and it was wonderful. This is a nice place to get out of the sun.

Captain cooks at Poly-- This is the quick serve restaurant at the Poly and is very small. Limited food menu but overall not bad. We has both breakfast and dinner here. Fish plate at dinner was good, as well as hamburgers. Chicken strips for kids were our favorite. At breakfast we had bacon and egg croissants-very good.

Ohanna-- By far our favorite breakfast character meal ever! We have done many charater meals but this was wonderful. Delicious food served family style. Character interaction time was perfect with lots of attention payed to my little ones. Food was great-- scrambled eggs, home fries, mickey waffles, sausage links, bacon, biscuits, fresh fruit, pineapple bread, and great coffe. We especially enjoyed the children's parade with the characters using maracas.

Hollywood and Vine--We had the Fantasmic dinner package and loved it! After hearing many bad revies of H+V on this board I was hesitant, but boy am I glad we did this meal. Food was awesome. Very fresh buffet food- pork veal sutlets, roast beef, salads, mac +cheese for kids, and on and on. Very very good. The need of doing a Fantasmic packeage meal has been greatly debated, but on a Saturday night and holiday weekend, it was needed. Seats were great and wait time was cut to a minimal. Would definately eat at H+V again. By the way, the steal chairs feel great on hot fannys after full day in hot park.

Kona cafe'--Great breakfast fast friendly service. Try the Tonga toast. It was delicious-French toast stuffed with cinnamon and banana. Great. Hubby had breakfast platter while kids ate Mickey pancakes. Great meal.

We really did not have a bad meal at Disney. We enjoyed various counter service meals-all of which were good.

Mahalo!

Your teasing me!!! I can't wait until I can get the Tonga Toast at Kona. It's at the top of my list. Great to here that you did'nt have a "bad" meal.

What other counter-service restauarants did you go to??? I usually like to here about those more then sit-down restaurants. It's alot harder to find a good counter-service then a sit-down. Fantastic Reviews

Thanks for the reviews! We love the everything about the Poly. Glad to hear that you had some great meals. I have to agree with you about the Fantamic Dinner Package for a Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend. How was the weather? It was rainy and cold in NY the whole weekend.

LAWalz23--We had such a great time and the weather totally co-operated. Beautiful overcast weather on Friday meant MK was perfect- no hot weather to hamper our spirits. Staurday was H-O-T, but we were so happy to spend time at MGM for Star Wars weekend that we managed just fine. A small trip to the Poly pool in the afternoon and we were ready for Fantasmic. Some small showers during the rest of our time at Disney but wonderful! When we returned I found out NC had pouring rain all the time we were gone. Loved it!

Thank you for these great reviews.

Looking at our itinerary and trying to see how we can fit in the Plaza restaurant and 'Ohanas in.

Happy to see that H&V seem to have got their act together - we did the Fantasmic package 2 years and didn't care for it - but seen some good reviews lately.

ASMo food court - we have stayed at ASMo for the past two trips and will stay there again in July (all for 14 night trips), but can count on one hand the number of times we have eaten there. Cannot stand the long lines and school cafeteria atmosphere. I do enjoy the taco salad though, but I try to get one on a quiet time there.

Great reviews - what characters at the 'Ohana character breakfast I think I'd like to try it for breakfast we absolutely loved it for dinner.

The characters present at 'Ohanna breakfast were Mickey, Goofy, Chip and Dale. They spent alot of time with our family and cheered up my 4 year old who was pouting because we had to check out after breakfast. I highly recommend this meal to everyone-- the kids loved it and my DH and I enjoyed it too!
