Where can we go to eat that accepts Disney Reward Dollars (gift cards) but is not on the DDP? We are going for 11 nights and are on the DDP but we are buying a few meals OOP since we have a few 2credit meals planned. We'd like to try something new that IS NOT on the DDP. We have a lot of reward dollars to spend so we thought this was an excellent opportunity to use them!

any good suggestions?popcorn::

Easier to say WHERE they are honored instead of not honored.

I guess I'm confused because I have used Disney gift cards to pay for dining at places not on that list.

Why would only 4 places in MK and 5 places in Epcot take a gift card for payment - I have used a gift card everywhere in Epcot - even kiosks, counter service, etc.

What is that list exactly?

Thanks so much! There's sure a lot of places i can now look to go to now! I'm thinking maybe we'll buy breakfast with our rewards since we didn't go deluxe. Or maybe Fultons!

1) Not "gift cards", Disney Rewards Cards.
. . . Gift Cards are like cash
. . . Rewards Cards are points issued as dollars from the Visa card
2) All I can do is go by what is on the website.

You could also just use your KTTW for a room charge at the restaurants, then use the Visa Rewards card at the front desk to pay it off.

This is what I do -I apply the reward card any time during my stay(and then my CC covers the balance of my room charges)- no problems

Got it - I was equating the two. I have used both, but I probably have used my Visa Rewards card at a more limited set of places because we never have that many dollars on it.

I've used my rewards card all over WDW and have never had it refused. Even the food carts and the San Angel Inn took my Disney VISA rewards card.

I guess I don't understand why you are looking for places NOT on the dining plan that will take rewards dollars. What difference would it make if a restaurant was on the dining plan or not if you are planning to pay oop or with rewards dollars for a meal?

1) This assumes you are staying on-site & have charging privileges.
2) Many people use the Visa and Rewards, but do not stay on-site.
3) Thus, where they can use their reward points is important.

I have seen somewhere on the website that this is just a sample list. I'm planning on using my Reward card next month at places not on this list--Columbia Harbor House, Sunshine Seasons, and House of Blues (actually called there and they said they accept it). We will have to see what happens.

So if I'm understanding this correctly I can use my room key from the hotel at Rainforest or T-Rex and then use my reward dollars to pay the hotel?

1) Yes.
2) Reward points can ALWAYS be applied to the Disney Resort bill.
