Restaurants without kid menus?

We are on the Disney Dining plan, and trying to manipulate our meals appropriately... we have a 4 & 7 year old, so will have 2 kids quick service meals per day. The kids don't eat a lot, so we'll generally just order 2 meals at a time and share with the four of us. I've heard that, if a restaurant doesn't have a kids menu, you can use kids quick service meals for a regular meal (obviously no alcohol) - is this true?

If it is the case, does anyone have a rough list of quick service restaurants that don't have kids menus? Thanks!

That is, as far as we know, no longer true the majority of the time. People are being told that the registers have no way to process a kid's credit where there is no kid's menu. HOWEVER, some are saying they had no problem at all and could use the kid's credits to get a meal.

I think you either need to redo the math on getting the plan at all or plan on using those kid's credits for kid's meals.
