My mom and I are going to be in Hollywood Studios on Wednesday (!) and we will have family, who live in Florida, meeting us for dinner. Where is somewhere close by that you suggest we try? It can't be in a park. TIA!

:thanks:

You have all of the restaurants of the Boardwalk/Swan & Dolphin and BC/YC just a short walk or boat ride away. You have choices from laid back and fun to fancy, expensive restaurants.
Who are the members of your family? What kind of food are you looking for?
I have never eaten at any of the Swan or Dolphin hotels, but many have great reputations.
At the Boardwalk the ESPN is a sportsbar with a bar type menu. It is noisy and fun. Be sure there is not a big game on or you will wait to get in. Spoodles is Mediteraian and liked by many. Flying Fish is upscale and expensive but very good. The Big River Grille is a Brew PUb and we have enjoyed our meals there.
At the YC/BC you have the Yachtsman Steakhouse which is also a Signatuare, upscale, expensive Steak House. We do not care for it. There is the Captains Galley for dinner also inthe Yacht Club. The Beach Club has the Cape May Cafe which is a clambake themed dinner buffet.
There is also Beaches and Cream, an ice cream parlor that servers burgers and such.
Many of the full service restaurants require reservations, so do plan ahead or you may not get in.
Good Luck

I vote for bluezoo at the Dolphin. Since it's not on the dining plan it has a tendency to be less chaotic and has a more adult feel. Food is excellent.

Blue Zoo at the Dolphin or IL Mulino at the Swan. both excellent!

Thanks, hopefully, for the suggestions. I will have to look into those.

It will be 3 older adults (over 55), one middle adult (30) and two young adults (18 and 21). We want to stay close to Hollywood Studios in case mom and I wanted to go back in.

While we don't need cheap eats, the family would like to stay reasonable, i.e. no California Grill!

I just called a bit ago and was able to make an ADR at Boma for Friday evening, so I don't think that will be too much of a problem.

Keep the suggestions coming, please!

Big River Grille and Brewery is a very reasonable and good place to go. It does not take reservations - walk up dining only. It is located on the Boardwalk.
Actually, my friends swear it has the best steaks at Disney. I just like the sandwiches and my husband enjoys the beer.

The bluezoo and Il Mulino are good restaurants, I just don't know if they'd fit in your budget preferences. :confused3 At bluezoo, an entree will run $30-40. At Il Mulino an entree of pasta will run $20-25, while steak/chicken/fish will run $30-40. Desserts in both run $8-15, so dinner for one with dessert and a beverage is going to run $40-$50 plus tip.

If you are looking for something a little less expensive, I recommend the Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club. It is one of our favorite places for dinner. :goodvibes Entrees run $15-22 except the NY Strip which is about $29. Desserts are $5-6, so the bill for one person is going to run $25-30 unless you order the steak, in which case the total would be $35-40.
