Hi All

This may be a really silly question, but for the first time myself and DBF are going to be eating at restaurants in the parks - but I'm not sure how we should dress (casual, smart, dressy etc...)

I'm assuming T-Rex and Planet Hollywood will be pretty casual?

We'll also be eating at Rose and Crown and Via Napoli. I usually wear summer dresses/skirt and vest top/t-shirt anyway so I'm hoping this will be ok. Will DBF be ok in 3/4 quarter trousers and a t-shirt?

TIA :goodvibes

They're almost all dress code free :) Victoria and Alberts and Cali Grill are the only ones with dress codes I can think of.

It is funny when you schedule a rest break, shower and dress up, to head to a restaurant where everyone is sweaty and in shorts :) your restaurants are fine though, don't worry. Just don't try and turn up in a bikini, apparently you have to wear a shirt :rotfl:

Ahh that's great to hear! I didn't fancy wandering around Epcot in a 'dressy dress' in the afternoon then going to Via Napoli for a late dinner haha!

Thank you :)

Only the signature restaurants have a dress code (which is pretty loose anyway, basically just no swimwear or torn and messy clothing) and Victor & Albert's which is strictly formal wear only.

And you have to wear shoes too (apparently). I don't think they can expect restaurants in the parks to impose a 'dressy' dress code, but it would be nice if some folk showed a little more respect for some of the 'nicer' resort restaurants - I think. I mean shorts and t shirts are fine - but you get shorts and t shirts .... and then you get shorts and t shirts :rolleyes2 You will be fine in your park clothes though and will be wearing exactly the same as 90% of the rest of the guests at any restaurant in whatever you are comfortable in for your park day. In fact, in your summer dress/skirt, you will probably look really well dressed!

I totally agree I felt utterly out of place and got stared at when going into Citricos in a simple cocktail dress and high heels!! I looked around around and realised there was people in normal shorts t-shirt and some had on trainers:confused3 didnt think that was allowed in the Signature's I seen one man and women in tracky bottoms and a jumper:lmao:
I LOVE to dress up when going out to dinner I do it over here so i will def do it on holiday.
Of course when going to a park restaurant thats a little different although if its for the evening i will still go bk and wash change into sandals and a little sun dress or a cute top and linen trousers!

Me too. We have booked Bluezoo at the Swan/Dolphin because we figured people might get a bit more dressed up there :confused3

For other restaurants, I have bought smart maxi dresses and dressy flat sandals, they're nice enough to be dressy but casual enough not to look out of place :thumbsup2

For sure - you're in a park and so nearly everyone is dressed in park gear, shorts, t-shirts, capris, vest tops etc. Disney just stipulate

Proper dress is required at all Disney Theme Parks. Shirt and shoes must be worn at all times

These days for Signature restaurants whilst there is a stricter dress code (bar V&A's which requires a jacket) I've seen what are IMHO some real sights but if Disney let them dine in those clothes then hey-ho why should I let that bother me.... personally part of the vacation experience for me is, when appropriate, to change for dinner ... even if it's for another pair of Capris ;)

We have sit down TS dinner every night and we go back to the hotel shower and change every night. The boys (14 & 16) and my DH usually wear linen 3/4 length trousers or knee length check shorts with either a short sleeve shirt or a polo shirt and I wear either capri trousers or a skirt with a little blouse or sun top. I can't say I've ever felt out of place but I would say there have been times when we've been one of the smartest dressed families :rotfl: but as you say it's what we would do at home and what we feel comfortable with so why shouldn't we do it when we're on holiday.

Dbf willbe fine... As long as there's nothing offensive on the tshirt! I usually go shorts and tshirt. Sometimes if it's not unbearably hot I'll do jeans, but either way I'll always wear trainers. Never a problem. Just try not to worry about it and be comfortable.
