We're going to Disney in July for our Honeymoon and I'm starting to plan the restaurants that we'll be eating at, so I can start calling for priority seating. I haven't been to Disney in about 7 years, so I would like some suggestions for where to eat in the parks for lunch and dinner. Price doesn't matter (it's our honeymoon, we're going to spoil ourselves!!), so let me know of any restaurant that you think is good! By the way, we're staying at AKL, so we're already planning to eat at Boma and Jiko.
Thank you!
Kathy

My bf and I just returned from a trip on the gold plan which allowed us to try many restaraunts that we normally wouldn't.
Our favorites for adults were...in order
#1 Wolfgang Puck's upstairs
#2 California Grill
#3 Fulton's
runner up ...Le Cellier
If have any other questions ...just let me know

Obviously V&A's at the GF.

I liked Cindy's for dinner (I've heard it's good for lunch as well)

Whatever the Mexican sit-down is called in Epcot(we loved it, but others find it icky)

Spoodles and Palios were both very good Mediterranean food

Not really romantic, but Pizzafari in AK is quite good

Shula's is awesome if either of you are big meat eaters

Ghriadelli's (sp?) is great for sharing a hot fudge sundae (I like the gold rush personally)

As an aside, go mini golfing in the middle of the day once. It's uncrowded, fun and you guys can goof around (we liked Fantasia better than Wintersummerland, but both are fun)

Hi Kathy,

For our Honeymoon, we made ressies at Cindy's castle...we couldn't get ressies for the character breakfast, but we had lunch there and it was beautiful! The food was good, but the atmosphere was the best. I hear V&A is great too, but we were too tired to troop all over the place by the time our ressies were up, so we canceled a few days before.

And if you get a chance, maybe you can try the Luau at the Poly. That was the BEST food we had and the show was AMAZING!!! The Luau was our favorite and then the lunch at the castle.

Hope this helps...ENJOY!!!!

OH almost forgot, when you call to make the PS, don't forget to let them know it's for your honeymoon. We did and they gave us special desserts and I think because we let them know during the PS, we got great seatings at all the restaraunts we made ressies with. We just called 407-939-3463 (I have it stored in my phone! hee hee...we're such chubbies;) ) and they made all the PS's for us...ENJOY!!!! :teeth:

Since you limit yourself to eating in the parks, you automatically exclude most of the better restaurants.
No real good restaurants in the AK itself. In the MK, Cindy's would be OK if they served drinks.
At MGM, Brown derby is a nice restaurant, while at Epcot , Chef's D France, Bisrto D Paris and Le cellier are good choices.

I would add Citrico's to the list. If you like wine, add wine pairings.

Some of my favorite restaurants are:

Artist Pt. at the Wilderness Lodge. It is quiet and the food and service are excellent. I love to walk around the grounds after dinner.

Narcoosee at the Grand Floridian. The food and service are excellent and I love the view of the castle at night.

Chefs de France was great for lunch and not crowded. It is a very pretty restaurant with very good food and service.

Flying Fish is excellent. It is so nice to walk on the Boardwalk after a meal there.

I like the character breakfasts at Cape May and Crystal Palace.

Fultons was terrific when we ate there a few weeks ago. So was Wolfgang's but it is very crowded and noisy.

Top romantic spots IMO:

California Grille: absolutely the BEST food on property (though I haven't been to V & A, I like the casual elegance of CG). Time it to the MK fireworks, they pipe in the music and dim the lights. Make PS at least 1 hour prior.

Artist Point: The cozy warmth yet grandeur of the WL is romantic in itself. AP does not disappoint with food/service either. Get a window seat that overlooks the lake. Afterward take the boat ride to MK...very romantic.

Jiko: Glad to hear you're going here - excellent. Boma is not quite as good or romantic IMO, but a lot of people like it.

Le Cellier/Illuminations: DH and I had a romantic evening at Le Cellier...may I suggest the cheddar cheese soup and mushroom filet? We timed our PS to see Tapestry of Dreams, then dinner, then after dinner illuminations. Afterward we walked to the boardwalk and hung out.

Citricos: The GF is magnificent - Citricos is a hidden gem. Walk the grounds at night after your meal for a view of the castle.

I would go visit DEB'S SITE and look over all the menus and make selections from there. DH and I dined at Teppanyaki and San Angel Inn on our anniversary. Teppanyaki was wonderful and San Angel was okay. I LOVED the atmosphere, but could have done without my selection for dinner. It had too much cilantro and was just really blah!! Dessert however did make up for it!! :teeth: We did Brown Derby at MGM and I wish that would have been where we dined for our anniversary dinner....IT WAS OUTSTANDING!!! :o Go visit the site I left you a link too and check out the menus. It did wonders for DH and I!! HAVE A WONDERFUL HONEYMOON!!!

We will be honeymooning in June
and we really want to do our first night right.
We will take the ferry to MK
then dinner at Cindy's and then the fireworks
just something for you to think about

My wife and I also spent our honeymoon at WDW. It was outstanding.

We have been back many times since and some of our favorite places for an adult evening were:

California Grill at the Contemporary (Just before sunset)

Le Cellier, Canada Pavillion (Warm, friendly and Romantic)

Artist Point, We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge (A visit to this hotel is an event)

Narcoosees, Grand Floridian (Another hotel that is fun to visit and a romantic exploration)

Citricos, Grand floridian (Contemporary elegance)

These restaurants all offer exceptional food, romantic atmosphere at locations that I highly recommend you visit.

Most of the restaurants will cater too you if they know it is your Honeymoon but I will suggest some of our favorites...

California Grill... get there so you will be eating during the fireworks and request a seat with a good view (be sure to tell them your on your honeymoon)

V&A or Narcosees

Artist Point... or if you want to have fun in a close to annoying way Whispering Canyons, they will help you celebrate!!!

Cinderella's (for breakfast would be my suggestion)... they gave us gifts that we couldn't believe.

San Angel Inn... but only if you like true authentic Mexican food. The atmosphere is very romantic (ask to be sat next to the river)

Le Cellier... nothing to say other then its good food

Palio's... as said before, good food

Cape May... the clam bake is fun and its great food for sea food lovers and haters

and Finally O'hana... I love O'hana's Dinner Menu, you should check it out. Then after dinner go down to the beach, lay in a hammock and watch the electric water parade and the fireworks.

VERY IMPORTANT...when you make PS tell them its your honeymoon. when you check into your hotel, tell them its your honeymoon. When you show up for Breakfast/lunch/Dinner, tell them its your honeymoon!!! Just do it and trust me you will have many memories because of the things that CM's will do to make your honeymoon more enjoyable!!!

We enjoyed a dinner at Yachtsmans Steakhouse during our honeymoon. I mentioned the special occasion to the waiter and he gave us a nice dessert plate with different selections. He told us to hold hands and then he said some nice marriage words of wisdom. This was the only place where we got something for mentioning our honeymoon. The steaks are very good. DH proclaims best one ever.

Definitely try California Grill- the view alone is worth the price.

We enjoyed the food at Ohana..plus it's nice and tropically there, so you kinda feel like you're in Hawaii which is romantic.

I haven't eaten there, but the Mexican restaurant inside the temple is beautiful- very romantic looking. It seems to get mixed reviews foodwise.

We had one of the best steaks ever at Shula's over at the Dolphin. Quite pricey but heavenly steak...the side dishes were marvelous as well.

if you'll have a car Bahama Breeze is worth a trip for a fun dinner

California Grill, Narcossee's & Portobello Yacht Club were all on our list for our honeymoon. We also did a great character dinner at 1900 Park Fare.

Thank you for all of your suggestions everyone! You've definitely helped make our decisions easier!!
