Restaurants.com gift cert. use?

I see that restaurants.com is having the 80% off special again (SAVORY) but the restaurant I want is sold out of gift certificates. If I purchase restaurants.com certificates, how do I then use them later to buy the restaurant I want? Does a $25 restaurants.com certificate buy a $25 restaurant I want certificate even though the price listed is $15? Hope that makes sense!

I have bought a few certificates in the past.
Yes, a $25 certificate buys $25 certificate. If you get the 80% off you will pay around $3.00 for the $25 certificate.
then you trade that certificate in for a coupon for $25 at the restaraunt of your choice. Hope you understood that...
for instance: you want to buy a certificate at "Mickey's Restaurant and Lounge" (not a real restaraunt, don't look it up) but they are sold out.
You buy a gift certificate for $25 with the 80% off.
You go back on line on the first of the month when they renew all certificates. You go to Restaraunt.com and go to redeem certificate. Type in the certificate number then look for "Mickey's Restaurant and Lounge" and click on buy certificate, then buy the certificate. Print out the certificate for "Mickey's Restaurant and Lounge" and enjoy your dinner.

I actually used mypoints to get a $25 restaurants.com gift card. However, on the back of the gift card when you get it in the mail, it says go to this website to redeem (a section of restaurants.com). Well, I guess by following this way it doesn't let you enter in any codes... So, I spent my $10 on a $25 gift card to a restaurant. Still have $15 credit left, so I am hoping when I go into my account next time I can do it the normal way and get my 80% off. Speaking of, I should probably go check that today before coupon code expires.
