Still trying to plan my parks and restaurants in December. We will be in Epcot and would like a nice meal for lunch (not on dining plan) Is Boma or Wilderness Logde too far away to pop over to? Any suggestions? Would prefer a buffet Thanks

I think both of those are too far away for a lunch unless you were taking a big mid-day break. Epcot has some of the best restaurants available in the world showcase. I don't think any are buffets except for Beirgarten and the Castle in Norway (Akershus), but Epcot is one of our favorite places to eat. You could also walk or take a boat to Beach Club/Yacht Club/Boardwalk/Swan/Dolphin if any of the restaraunts there seem interesting.

Biergarten in Epcot is my family's absolute favorite fun and tasty restaurant. It is a buffet, is reasonably priced for the quantity of food, and is a lot of fun.

I do think that going all the way to AKL or WL during lunch is a long way to travel, especially when there are so many great options at Epcot.

Thank you. That sounds great that there are some places within walking distance, ill check those out.

Chefs de France has some great options for lunch. I love their tarts, soups, and I've heard their salads and sandwiches are great.

If you decide to do dinner instead of lunch Cape May is only a few minutes of a walk at the Beach Club. This is a buffet. If you decide not and want lunch, I agree with the Biergarten recommendation, I love this place.

Cape May is not open for lunch.Breakfast and dinner only

I think im leaning towards Cape May for late breakfast, we have EMH that day so it works perfectly, we can take a break and walk over there, its not too far is it? It seems to get good reviews!

Cape May & the BC is a very short walk from Epcot, through the amazingly low key and relaxing International Gateway entrance. That is a great option for a late breakfast.

Akershus is also a great option for a breakfast inside Epcot, especially if anybody in your party enjoys princesses.

You can do a number of resturants In EPCOT of course.
But since your asking about near, I would look at checking out the ones around the Boardwalk.
Very short walk, easy to get to through the International Gate between England and France.
Nice pleasant walk, the BW itself has a great atmosphere and worth checking out.
Then when your done you can quickly go back and your right back into EPCOT.

In BW you got ESPN Club or Big River.
Across the bay just as easy to get to you can try Beaches and Cream.

And you'd have more choices if you went for dinner.

FWIW, Boma is not open for lunch, just breakfast & dinner.

The Biergarten in Germany is a good buffet, but be aware that you are seated at long tables (for 8?) so you'll be sitting with other people. Epcot has some fabulous restaurants, no need to wander far for lunch. Go over to www.allearsnet.com to check out sample menus.

Another vote for Biergarten! Or as you stated a late breakfast at Cape May, this is usually one of the least crowded breakfast buffets I have ever been to. Love the food and the character interaction was among the best!

Would you prefer a character buffet vs. a non-character buffet for breakfast? I ask because Cape May has characters and is a few dollars more than the similar buffet at Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club resort.

These resorts are connected via the pool area, so it's not much longer to get to Captain's Grille.
