Hi there,

Looking for anyone who has tried it? Was it good? Anyone know if you take the cheese off is it vegan?

Any pictures, information, etc. would be highly appreciated :)

We all had it in September. We went thinking we were going to get a veggie burger, but it is totally off the menu and not available. The lady behind the counter who dealt with allergies was not exactly friendly. When I told her we were vegans she said "well that isn't an allergy" (I never said it was). Anyway, she showed me the book of ingredients. Everything was vegan except for the mono-glyerides. She couldn't for sure tell me they were plant based. She did say that the sandwich without cheese was what they had for vegans and that many vegans had ordered it. With that said, I ordered it. It probably took about 10 minutes to get our sandwiches without cheese. It was good. Big slices of mushrooms. Then some pepper and onions and maybe zuchinni or squash. We also used the toppings bar to load up on all the fixings. We all enjoyed it. The sweet potato fries were good. You really couldn't tell that big of a difference with regular fries. We would get it again. We aren't going back this trip in April because we fell in love with Tusker House. On our Animal Kingdom day we will be eating Tusker House for lunch and Earl of Sandwich for dinner. Those are in our top 3 places to eat when we go to Disney.

In November I had the veggie sandwich & sweet potato fries and thought they were TDF! Generally anything that I get that has cheese on it I'll ask for extra. There's no such thing as too much. LOL! I don't recall putting a bunch of toppings on the sandwich. I'm trying to remember. Maybe there was grilled onions or mushrooms that I added. :confused3 And, of course, just a little mayo. For a warm sandwich other than a burger I like my crunchy-cool veggies on the side. The bread was soft & fresh, the veggies cooked perfectly, and the blend of flavor was superb. The sweet potato fries were fresh and quite flavorful as well. I dip any french fry in a little mayo. These were just heavenly. I definitely plan to return for more! :thumbsup2

My husband and I shared a veggie sub and the shrimp po'boy. I liked the po'boy better but my husband loved the veggie sub and said he could eat one every day.

Hope you try it and enjoy it.

:)

. . . so, I guess they are good

. . . no, as I understand, they are not vegan

We definitely got them without cheese in September. It took about 10 minutes to get them without cheese because they had to go make up the sandwiches. I saw the ingredient book and like I said above, the only thing that was possibly not vegan were the mono-gylicerides. I would like to know if something has changed so that we can plan for future trips.

Thanks everyone. Also, I just read on the Bashful Vegan blog that she had the sandwich w/o the cheese and not toasting the bun (maybe they put butter on it to toast the bun). I'm just happy to have another option at AK. Now I sure wish that Pizzafari would get a good vegan option so I can eat with my family over there. They like to eat lunch at Pizzafari every time we go.

Yes that is right, they did not toast the bun because they put butter on it to get it toasted. It is a good CS option for AK.

Thanks - so glad to know that is why as it will help me when ordering.
