Restaurant Recommedations????

We are looking at our FIRST Disney trip in September!! WHOA HOA!! When i booked the trip I was told to start booking Dinners 6 months in advance, My husband and I are taking our DS5 and DD11, can anyone reccomend FUN and nice dinners (we purchased the DDP)!!!

Whispering Canyon at the WL is a lot of fun.

It also depends on what kind of food you all enjoy.

Crystal Palace (character meals)

This year will be our second trip to disney. Our last trip we had two dd's age 8 and one dd age 10. We loved all of the restaurants that we went to so I don't think you can go wrong. Of course some were more fun than others.
We loved the Whispering Canyon Cafe, we are going to repeat that one this year. It's a very family friendly place with some fun interaction between the servers and you.
We enjoyed the Coral Reef because of the aquarium. It was fun watching the sharks and fish swim by as we ate.
The 50's Primetime is also a fun place to go. The servers are a lot of fun here. We know several people that went here and all had a good time. The food was good, but not enough to make me want to rush back, but it was definitely worth going to one time. It really was fun.
The character meals we enjoyed the most were Crystal Palace and O'hana's breakfast. O'hana's was probably the most fun.
This trip we are going to try Biergarten and Chef Mickey's. We are still trying to decide on the rest. Good luck!

50's prime time is a hit with my hubby and I...it's kinda noisy and silly, so I reckon kids might find it funny (especially if mum and dad get in trouble with the 'Aunt' serving the table!) Hubby and I highly recommend the pot roast (my mouth waters just thinking about it) and the sm'ores for desert! (OMG!! They are soooooooo good!!!!)

Other good meals....

The teppanyaki meal in Japan at Epcot is great (Teppan Edo I think is the name)

And we love Liberty Tree Tavern at Magic Kingdom! *drooool* I adore the stuffing, gravy and turkey! It's like Thanksgiving dinner every day

Oh yeah...HOOP DE DOO REVUE at Fort Wilderness!!! Great place for confirmed carnivores (looooove their ribs and fried chicken), corny but fun show...yummy strawberry shortcake for desert.

Disney dining is a little different than dining at your local restaurants. Most restaurants have something a little special to offer from characters to various theming. The best thing is to review the various menus from allearsnet.com or go into the Dining tab above from this website. Both have a great selection of menus to give you an idea of what each place has to offer. It's a good way to ensure all in your family can find something they woud eat. You'll find all kinds of opinions here so if something sounds good to your family go with it. From the forums here you can get a good idea on the themes of the various restaurants and what you might be able to expect when you visit. Being the the DDP you definitely want to make reservations 180 days out. You can always change things around. Have fun planning! Karen

How about a character breakfast?! Chef Mickeys has Mickey, Minnie & other "classic characters" for great photo ops and autographs-Crystal Palace has Winnie The Pooh & Friends, and 'Ohana has breakfast with Lilo, Stitch & Mickey. A character breakfast(which also can be/should be booked 6 months in advance) is a great way to start off a day in Disney!
