Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is a dinner theater located around the corner from the marina and boat docks in the Fort Wilderness Campground. They specialize in down-home comfort food, served family style.

As always, please vote 'Yea' or 'Nay' in the above poll, and if you feel like it, post your reasoning below. Thanks!

It was fun to do as a one-time thing but not as a repeat for us. I do enjoy that style of humor - but they show Hee Haw on RFD TV now every week and it's awfully similar. The food is pretty basic. The adult beverages seem to be a big part of the draw - and of the price. We don't happen to want those adult beverages. Bottom line: it's more than I want pay, either OOP or as 2 TS credits for the "cheap seats".

That said, I think it is a great option that Disney should keep. I think WDW should continue to strive to offer as many different options as possible for dining and entertainment, because everyones' tastes are different. And the more of y'all that go there, the better chance I have for getting an ADR at someplace else I'd like to eat!

We go to HDDR about every other year. It's always great!
Last year I thought the food was better than in the years
past. We're going again this year as we've got new people
to WDW with us! It will always put you in a good mood!

I voted Yea but would have voted both if possible. The show was really great but the food was just okay. I liked the ribs better at Flame Tree, actually! The chicken was pretty greasy and the beans were not my style. The mashed potatoes, salad, and cornbread were awesome though. I didn't like the strawberry shortcake too much, either, but that's probably because it was not what I'm used to. I also didn't eat that much but didn't feel great afterward. It was mostly a nice experience but I don't think we'll go back.

I've really enjoyed the Hoop De Doo Revue. The show is quite entertaining and the food is decent -- not 5 star but reasonably good picnic food. However it is not something that I would do over and over again ever single year. It is something that we do every so many years.

So, the general concensus so far is: okay food, a fun time, but not something that needs to be done on every trip.

Anyone else have anything to add?

I voted nay because I was TOTALLY disappointed in the food. I can make better and I'm a BAD cook! The show was cute, but I wouldn't see it again. I do love Ft. Wilderness though. It's my favorite area of WDW, so anything that gets people over there and experiencing the area is a good thing, I guess.

We love HDDR and, here's the kicker, we do it EVERY year!! It is a must do for us, we love it. We love the atmosphere and the food is very good!!

I can't vote! We need an "it depends" category. I'm the opposite of the other posters - I really love the food (and the sangria!) but not the show. The show was really fun for our oldest (now a pre-teen) when he was a toddler. We went a couple times and really enjoyed it because he had so much fun.

But now, I don't think our two pre-teen boys would enjoy it anymore, and I'm pretty sure my husband would not. I also don't like the travel time required to get to HDD or the cost for our two pre-teen "Disney adults," so we haven't returned. And although we no longer use the dining plan, it was not worth the TS credits required when we were on the plan.

If you have never been to Hoop De Doo, I think it's worth a try. But I always recommend taking a look at the youtube videos to see how you might like the show. If your trip is long enough or you like to use a car at Disney, the travel time may not be much of an issue. And if you are not on the dining plan, the TS credits required are not an issue either.

So I need an "it depends" category for this!

On the fence, then? I would probably feel the same way about the place as you do. The menu and atmosphere appeal to me as a fun change of pace from our normal dining fare, but I don't know if I'd be into the show, and I certainly wouldn't want to be part of the show. Not while I'm eating! I don't even particularly care for chatty waiters. I prefer (mostly) quiet conversation with my loved one(s).

Sorry, though. The restaurant poll will always be yea or nay. As difficult as it sometimes is, I have to force people to go one way or the other.
