We are a family of four, and thought we would try Restaurant Marrakesh. I am now having second thoughts. What was your experience there, if any?
Thanks,

We thought the food was bland, no taste. The wait staff wasn't friendly at all, may be wonder if I was at Disney. We don't plan to go back. The belly dancer was good but we were seated so far away we couldn't get a good picture.

we have been a few times, like the food...of course, it's disney-downed...the staff couldn't be friendlier.

all our experiences have been positive...i plan to try to get there this trip as well.

Marrakesh was the only bad part about our last trip. In fact, it was horrible!!
The waiters were beyond rude, the service was terrible, and the belly dancer didn't dance -she just sat in a chair! IMO, Marrakesh doesn't live up to the Disney standard at all! :sad2:

Gee Now I also having second thoughts, wanted to try some new restaurants, and less then 113 days to go :hippie::cool1::hippie:

Aw, it's one of my favorites! We ate there the last two years we've gone and I thought everything was fantastic. Like all the other food at DW, as the previous poster stated, it's disney-downed, but it's still good.
Both times we went the belly dancer danced twice during our meal.

It's my favorite too. Our dinner there was superb and the wait staff was very friendly. The belly dancer danced twice while we were there and even danced with the children.

Try it! We ate there during our trip last August. We thought the food was good. The belly dancer was entertaining, but we just felt like we were rushed through our dinner. We will go back.

we had lunch there 2 times andliked it. I would eat there more aften,if hubby's tastes were more "adventurous". (I like lamb, he doesn't0
but the beef brewat rolls, although different, would appeal to many, a cinamon flavor. we enjoyed the dancer. while it's not a show you pay for, it's a free show. and something different you wont' get at home.
we liked the atmosphere. with the mosaic tiles and arches, you really felt like you were in a different country.
I mean, you can get "american" meals anywhere at TGIF. or applelbees, right? try something different on vacation!!

My husband and I went Jan 2009 and had a great time. The food was excellent. There was live music the whole time and the bellydancer danced. I believe there are specific times that she performs and as I recall we scheduled about 45 minutes before that to guarantee that we would be seated by that time. I hope you decide to go. It was lots of fun.

plus, it's easy to get into, if you are late scheduling your adrs.
unless you REALLY need to have a steak, this is a much better atmosphere than Le Cellier. there it is just dark and very crowded. we orderd a triple platter, that had chicken bastilla? there was also a soup we liked.
we thought is was an "experience", not just a meal.

The food doesn't compare to a "real" Moroccan restaurant because, like all the restaurants at WDW, the food is Americanized. I think it is a shame and the food should be more traditional but considering what it is I didn't have a bad meal. I would suggest trying the CS place at the front of the Morocco pavilion but if the food looks like it will appeal to you try it.

I would never not eat a place at WDW I wanted because of reviews. Two different people can have the exact same meal sitting at the exact same table at the exact same time and have two very different opinions of it. Make the determination yourself.

true, but I assume (I don't know why) they are on the DDP. I wouldn't waste a TS credit on a CS restaurant.

but actually we are looknig for a new place to try for a CS credit at epcot. so thanks for the suggestion!

I never even think about the dinning plan so that could be.

Definitely try it. Outside of Sunshine Seasons I think the Tangierine Cafe ( I had to go look up the name) is the best CS at Epcot. I prefer the Mediterranean Lamb Wrap provided you like lamb, if not the chicken one is good.

I DO like lamb. hubby has more pedestrian tastes, though (give him a corn dog, he's happy!)
we tried the Yakatori house and weren't very happy with it.
being the "uber planner" that he is, he "pencils in " CS restaurants. I keep trying to say.. "if we pass by a place you like.. get something to eat! if we pass by a place I like, I'LL get something to eat!". ;) but that would mean waiting in 2 lines!!!:scared1:
that's it.. I'm getting the Mediterranean lamb wrap!!! (and it's YOUR fault if Nebo's next trip report includes our divorce!!!:rotfl2:)
(actually, I can't believe you haven't checked his trip reports out! you would get a kick out of them)

I'm all for planning but that is a little over the top.

Right now I'm going to bed but I will check out the trip report. I like the funny ones.

While I have enjoyed Marrakesh in the past, honestly the quick service is just as good, much cheaper, and took a lot less time. It's good but it can be skipped really.
