In the videos, I see a big family size dish of rice and all sorts of other stuff... What is that? What is it called? and How good is it???

Thanks in advance, it looks so good in the videos.

You're probably talking about couscous, and it is my hands-down favorite dish in all of WDW.

Go try it!

The food is AWESOME! There usually isn't very many people in there either. We ate lunch there in September 2002 and everyone was seated in a small area in the middle of the dinning room. Maybe 8 tables were filled. Service was great. I had lamb and coucous, excellent. Very fresh and piping hot. The dancers were fun to watch too. Service was very attentive. Definately try Marakesh, it seems most miss out on this one!

Marrakesh is beautiful inside - the food is very good, some excellent Moroccan wine choices, service is attentive and the belly dancer is just divine

A very good choice!

I just wish they would offer a traditional seating on floor cushions with no shoes option

thanks

Couscous is a rice like pasta (its semolina) which is very buttery. Its good. They make a stew and serve it over the couscous - which may be what you are seeing. If you aren't sure, couscous is easy to make and is carried by most grocery stores by the rice pilaf - buy a box and cook it up and see if you like it - its really easy to make (water, couscous, butter, microwave) - the box will set you back about $2. The stew served over the top is either lamb or chicken or vegetarian.

I totally agree that Marrakesh is wonderful. I went for the first time last July and had a great time. I had the Chicken Couscous was very happy. My 2 nieces and 3 nephews also got a big kick out of the belly dancer.

They do also serve rice with vegetables in it, my DD had that with her chicken kebabs last Dec.

I had one of the combination plates, I think the Berber Feast. It started with tomato and onion salad, then a plate of chicken, lamb, and couscous, and ended with a fruit salad. I wanted to try the lemon chicken, but had never had lamb and wanted to try it also. Asked the waitress for help, and she suggested we modify the Feast, and exchange the chicken kebabs for lemon chicken. They are very accomodating. The lemon chicken was wonderful, not too crazy about the lamb.

We also had hot mint tea, it was delicious!! This is a wonderful restaurant!

OK, now I really am missing the place - the Hot Mint Tea is perfect on a cool Orlando night

::yes::

We love this restaurant, the food has been yummy and it's fun to watch the dancer and listen to the music. The atmosphere is great. What you saw was most likely the Marrakesh Feast or the Royal Feast, it's a variety of different foods to sample. This is what we usually order, it even includes dessert. YUM

Probably our favorite restaurant in Epcot - maybe in the whole World. I love the lamb meshoui, and DH loves everything on the menu, lol. The couscous is great.

The tile work is exquisite, the food delicious, the service fantastic, and the belly dancer and music are awesome. Try it out! It's definitely something different from the usual.
