Sorry for the delay, I was away this weekend!
It's time to continue Round 1! We should have Round 1 Complete by this weekend and will start up Round 2!
Results: Round 1, Day 1
Victoria & Albert's (1) defeated Monsieur Paul (16) 23-4.
As expected, the "Kentucky" of the Restaurant Madness bracket made easy work of Monsieur Paul. They took an early lead and never looked back. Victoria & Albert's seems to be on another level - both figuratively and literally. Can anyone take down the giant?
Flying Fish (5) defeated Il Mulino (12) 18-11
If you're a March Madness fan, you know about the 5 vs. 12 curse. If not - just about every year sees a #12 seed defeat a #5 seed. That wasn't the case here. I tried Il Mulino during my last trip and enjoyed it. I plan on trying Flying Fish next trip. It seems to be a favorite among many Disney fans and it showed here!
Ohana (2) defeated Maya Grill (15) 27-4
One of Ohana's core players, chicken, returned just before the tournament to give the restaurant an added boost. Ohana easily defeated Maya Grill and will take on Boatwright's or Cape May in the next round!
Sci-Fi (9) defeats Coral Reef (8) 16-14
Again, March Madness fans, how perfect is this? We see our first "upset" in this 8 vs. 9 matchup. Sci-Fi moves on!
Be Our Guest (1) defeats Planet Hollywood 29-1
The biggest blowout in the tournament thus far. Be Our Guest is like the Wichita State from last year. A fairly newcomer to the game, BOG has a talented team - but can it be enough to win it all? They'll have a tough time with the Signatures, should they make it that far!
