I used to work at Disney about 9 years ago and we used to love to go to 2 of the newer restaurants at that time. One was the Luau near the Polynesian I think and another place where you sit down and they keep bringing food to the table. They brought all you can eat shrimp, steak, etc. Also in the restaurant, some people would do hula races. Do theses sound familar? I am going back in about 2 weeks for the 1st time since and I would like to eat at those places. Anyone know what they are called and are they still good? I think they were near the Polynesian...not sure though. Please help! Thanks!

Sounds like Ohana at the Polynesian.

Definietely 'OHana at the Polynesian. The serve appetizers and salad, potatoes and vegtables, and them "all you can eat" skewers of turkey, beef, sausage and Pork. The have coconut races for the kids, as well as hula hoops etc. A lot of fun and we loved the food.
Welcome to the DIS!

Yep, it must be O'hana's and the last time I went I enjoyed the food.

The luau is still there at the Poly on side closest to the Grand Floridian. Btw the luau has been there for years. The only time I have been was in the late 70's. I do think they changed the show and maybe the food sometime in the past, maybe that is why you thought it was new 9 years ago.
