Which ones did you choose? I am sooooo tempted to go with Garden Grove just because I love seafood and with the kids buffet table DD will not have a problem. She does like selected seafood anyway. I am just not sure if they will accept her kids meal as one of the two qualifying "entrees". I am so fed up with paying for my little girl as an adult, that will be a deciding factor for me. :guilty:

Did you use the POFQ address like I did?
I ordered HOB it sounds really good I bought 3 vouchers - the 2 others are for my sisters family and friends family, who are going with us. :cool1:

:thumbsup2 I got HoB too. Can't wait to try it. The menu looks lovely and I really like the fact that it is different.

Still not sure what to do about Garden Grove. It's only a few $ for the Certificate but I don't want to waste time going there if I can't use it. i also don't want to be told afterwards that it can't be used if one diner is a child. I can't seem to get or find any answers. :sad1:

Can you email the restaurant directly somehow? At least then you'll have a written reply to take with you.

I would say 2 entrees means just that - doesnt matter who's eating them. Since they are so cheap too with the codes its worth a risk.

Thanks for the Magicard link. I totally forgot I have one of those! :rotfl: I will have a good look tonight and see. It may be better. The Restaurant.com voucher can only be used for dinner. Looks like Magicard can be used for any meal. 20% off basically means free tip. I'll check the other link later on.

I also got the email this weekend. What is the $10 certificate and where can you use it? Not too fussed about it, but wasn't sure what it's good for.

I just booked Garden Grove the other night. Unfortunately the seafood nights are on days that don't suit us, but I went with Mediterranean which looks pretty good too. I think I am going to phone the restaurant to make sure my 8 year old will count as the other entree as there are only the two of us.

.

It's a credit against restaurant.com so click the link in the email then search for a restaurant/ area you want and use it towards a restaurant certificate. It would only allow me to use it against a $10 certificate so I got one for Cricketers Arms at Festival Bay.

Oh great! Does it have an expiry date? If not I am going to get my certificate for Garden Grove tonight. I still haven't done it - wanted to be sure I could get a reservation first and also want to check with the restaurant about the qualifying criteria.

Not sure tbh if the credit expires - once I clicked the link it added the credit to my cart and it seemed as though I'd have to buy there and then. As far as I know the certificates don't expire tho. Not sure if you would be able to do Garden Grove if you have a $10 credit as the GG certificate is $25 and I couldn't use my credit as part payment towards a larger certificate which is why I got the $10 cricketers arms one.
As for getting a ressie, I suspect as it's not on DDP and isn't a well known restaurant you should be fine. I think the conditions are that you have to purchase 2 adult main courses (the cert. can only be used at dinner) and have to add the 18% gratuity. I think the adult buffet prices range from $25-30 dependant on the night you go as the theme varies. :)

Right, I made the reservtion the other day for GG with no problems. However I am going to cancel it tonight. I couldn't find where it said both entrees have to be adult and since it is a buffet and it is only me and my daughter (8), there is no point spending and extra $20 to save $25, which cost me $3. That would leave me $2 better off :rotfl:

I will just see if there is anywhere else we might like to try or give it a miss completely. Disappointed though as I was looking forward to that one.

Thanks for your help.

Hi all

I am new to this restaurant.com site, can anyone give me a quick rundown of what the site is, what these codes are that people keep posting, and anything else you think someone from the UK would need to know about using the site?

Many thanks

Hi Matt

www.restaurant.com is a voucher site for restaurants in the US. You buy gift certificates for your choice of participating restaurants at a reduced rate. For example, the average rate is $10 for a $25 certificate. You print off the certificate at home and take the paper with you when you go to eat out. There are terms and conditions as well as exlusions. Examples are a minimum spend, ordering a certain number of entrees or maybe certain days or meals that the vouchers cannot be redeemed. You need to register with them and if you sign up for their emails they send you codes to enter at check out which further reduce the cost of your purchase.

None of the Disney restaurants participate but there are some in the Disney area which are not owned by Disney and are listed on the site.

It says on the site that you have to have a US billing address but you can put in your resort or villa address instead and they will accept this.
