Can you tell me if it works out to your benefit and are there any downsides?

Its good if you are using it for yourself and read the terms carefully but I would never give it as a gift- its more like a coupon than a gift certificate. You get money off when you spend a certain amount of money. I have used them at a local place we eat at often and they work great.
