Yesterday when I made reservation I noticed that there was a space to fill in a celebration. We are traveling with our freinds and their 3 yr old and 2 yr old. They have never been to Disney before. Our first night there we are eating at Chef Mickey's. I went ahead and put in "First Visit" as a celebration for Chef Mickey's. I went ahead and put their two children's names in. What if anything will they do special at Chef Mickey's?

Thanks

They could do nothing. I recently made 2 dining reservations and neither of them remarked on our celebrations. One was a birthday, the other was an anniversary.

It's always been a good idea that if you absolutely wish to have recognition for a special celebration, it's best to arrange for it yourself and pay for it if necessary.

It's probably also a good idea to mention it while you are at the restaurant, but even then high expectations may not be met - the most you might get for a first visit might be a "Welcome to Walt Disney World" or possibly there might be more to it - you never know. But there's no set celebration protocol followed by the restaurants.

You could get a special cupcake, or just well wishes OR nothing. It is up to the Cms to decide if they have the time or the inclination to do anything.Go expecting nothing and if something happens than you got pixie dusted

On all our dining reservations for our last trip in May (probably 6 dinners) my parents made sure to tell the cast member on the phone that we were celebrating my college graduation. The only place that did anything was our last night at California Grill, when they put Mickey-head confetti on the table.

(For the record, I'm not complaining about this -- just the confetti was a lovely touch.)

It's basically 50/50 if you will get anything at all. Most of the times for a childs birthday, they'll give them a birthday cupcake with a candle in it and for anniversarys usually they'll give you a free dessert with happy anniversary written on the plate. When my parents went for their anniversary last december they were given a card signed by mickey and minnie when they checked into their hotel. It's basically up to the CM's like the PP said.
