We are spending one full day at Disneyland and I would like to have a sit down dinner. Nothing fancy or too expensive. I'm mainly choosing a sit down dinner over counter service so we can relax for a bit before finishing off our night. I was thinking of Naples, Tortilla Joe's, or Café Orleans. What are your thoughts on these?

We've been to Disney World many times but this is our first family trip to Disneyland. Is it necessary to make an advance reservation for late July?

Naples is almost identical to Via Napoli, so if you want good pizza, go there.

Tortilla Joe's is very good as well. I like it quite a bit.

Cafe Orleans is okay...kinda overhyped IMO. In park, I prefer Carnation Cafe. If you want good cajun/creole, Ralph Brennan's Jazz kitchen at Downtown Disney is the place to go.

You should make a reservation but it's not totally necessary unless it is a weekend night (Fri-Sun).

With only 1 park day I would stay in the park. Cafe Orleans or Carnation, and yes you'll need an ADR. There is also River Belle, but I haven't eaten there since it switched to TS.

Since you said only one day, I agree with other posters and stay inside the park. Carnation Cafe is great. The prices are decent, the food is yummy and the atmosphere is wonderful. You can choose to sit outside or inside. The fried pickles so good, even my daughter who hates pickles, will try to eat every one! The french fries are really good too. Family of 5 (3 teenagers) always order an order of french fries and an order of fried pickles as appetizers to share while we talk about our day and what everyone would like to do later in the day. Check out the menu. The portions are a good size too, so much so, we never have any room for dessert (Which is fine because we usually get Mickey's kitchen sink from Clarabelles (next to Fiddler Fifel and Practical in DCA).

In DTD, Tortilla Joes is good, Portion size here is on the large size. Plenty to share. The chicken burrito is huge! Same with the nachos.

What ever you decide, have a wonderful time!

I agree with staying in the park if you only have one day. If you're at DL, Carnation Cafe or Cafe Orleans, depending if you want Creole or Southern. If you're at DCA, Cove Bar or WCT.

I would make an ADR and now's a good time to do that since you're less than 60 days out. Cove Bar doesn't take reservations.
