restaurant advice at each theme park

Hello,

My family is going on March 1/2010 for the first time and I would like to bring to a restaurant recommended at each of the theme parks. All suggestions would be greatly appreciated, so overwhelming when you don't know. Thanks alot.

Sorry to be the bearer of sad news, but you may be out of luck. Most guests make their reservations 180 days out from the start of their trip. You might have a difficult time finding somewhere to eat. Check over on the Dining Board for ideas of what you might still find available.

At Epcot I like LeCellier, but you'll probably need to do lunch to get in. Teppan Edo is another favorite (the kids like the show).

At HS, we do lunch at 50's Prime Time, and mama Melrose is good. Brown Derby is the most high end, but I don't love it.

Animal Kingdom's Tusker House is good

Magic Kingdom, we like the Liberty Tree Tavern.

For magic kingdom we pop out and get the monorail to the Poly for Ohana
Epcot is Teppen Edo

There ARE numerous Counter Service Restaurants where reservations(ADRs) are not needed anytime.

Some of my favorites are:
Magic Kingdom
Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe


Epcot
Sunshine Seasons


Disney's Hollywood Studios
Backlot Express


Animal Kingdom
Flame Tree Barbecue

Do you want sit down or quick service options? Are you using the disney dining plan?

For Magic Kingdom you could try Columbia Habour House or Cosmic Rays for quick service. For a sit down meal you could try Crystal Palace or Liberty Tree Tavern.

For Epcot you could try Sunshine Seasons or Tangeriene Cafe (Moroccan) for quick service. For a sit down meal you could try Le Cellier or Teppan Edo.

For Animal Kingdom I would suggest Flame Tree BBQ or Tamu Tamu for quick service. Either Yak and Yeti or Tusker House would be good for a sit down meal.

At Hollywood Studios you could go to Starring Rolls for a quick service meal. For sit down, you could try 50's prime time or Sci Fi drive in.

If you are choosing a sit down meal I would make ADR's as soon as possible as seating at table service restaurants is often limited during busy times of the year. Either reserve online or call (407) WDW-DINE.

For MK: We do CRT.. the Teens actually LOVE it...
Cosmic Rays for CS


For Epcot: We do Teppan Edo.. again..the Teens LOVE the show...

For CS..SUnshine seasons...

FOr DHS: We do Sunset Market for CS and H&V F! Dining pkg for dinner...however it's jus tme & DS next time...and we're trying HBD with F! dining package...

For AK...I don't know...but Trying Y&Y for TS next time....an dwould like to try Flame Tree as welll....

MK - Liberty Tree Tavern for sit down lunch - love the turkey dinner
Crystal Palace for character dinner buffet - lots of fun
Cosmic Ray's for counter service - lots of choices under one roof

AK - Tusker House for lunch or dinner - hands down best in the park

HS - Nothing really great, but Brown Derby is pretty good sit down.
Hollywood and Vine is an ok buffet.

Epcot - Sunshine Seasons in the Land is good counter service.
San Angel Inn is decent Mexican sit down although many disagree.

Hi Lauri!

One of my biggest suggestions is to have a few ideas for each park. When you call in to get your ADRs, you might not get what you want (since it's so close to the time you are going), but you might get lucky! If you feel like you're striking out, you could maybe ask "can you tell me which restaurants you *do* have open for that night".

That said....

Epcot.... San Angel (Mexico), Biergarten (Germany), Teppan Edo (Italy). Those are all sit down meals. For over the counter, Sunshine Seasons (The Land Pavilion) might work for you.

Magic Kingdom - Try the Liberty Tree Tavern for a sit down meal. Over the counter (burgers and such), I'd suggest either Pecos Bill Cafe (Frontierland) or Cosmic Ray's (Tomorrowland).

Animal Kingdom - I can really only sugest Flame Tree Barbecue here, but a good option might be to eat at the RainForest Cafe on your way out?

Disney Hollywood Studios - I find this park to be the most challenging place to eat, for some reason. We ate at Sci Fi last month and only thought it was "okay" but my boys thought it was great (sitting in a car, watching movies, milkshakes, etc...).

MK - Crystal Palace - wonderful food and great character interaction

EPCOT - Rose&Crown - we had a fabulous lunch here in December. Teppan Edo or Coral Reef would also be nice.

Hollywood Studios - never been but 50's Prime Time gets many good reviews

Animal Kingdom - Have you considered taking a bus to the Animal Kingdom Lodge and dining there? The dining is great and it is an amazing resort to check out.

Check online and see whats available. We are going the same week and I *just* made a change to one of our ressies 2 weeks ago and there were tons of choices still available. Granted some of the most popular places were booked but certainly not all. I got everything I wanted scheduling less then 180 days without a problem... just gotta look around and see whats open!!
