I have a very nice dark brown soft leather couch. It is showing some wear where DH sits - the color is rubbing off. In addition my 7yo (@@@@@) scratched a stick figure talking on a cell phone into the cushion. It is not heavy enough that it damaged the leather, just enough to remove the color.

So now I have normal wear and tear and a picture of a yuppie on my couch.

Is there any kit I can use to recolor it or do I need to try and find a professional? The couch is in perfect condition otherwise.

I'd try shoe polish. I used it on an ottoman where I removed some of the finish (I used alcohol to remove an ink mark, and it worked, but it also removed some finish) and it worked really well, but that was a very small spot.

There are kits on the internet for this purpose, but I was too chicken to order them and try it out. They're not cheap. I have a similar issue with my dyed leather couch. I saw an ad for a company that "refinishes" leather in the paper the other day. I don't remember the name but I know companies like this exist.

Not what I thought this was about

I'd like to know too. I have 2 leather chairs from Thomasville that were several thousand dollars each and they faded even though the room they are in has little to no sunlight.
