Ressies at BWV or BCV 7 months in advance? (New SSR/DVC member--yay!!)

My DH and I just bought into SSR this week, and I am SO excited! (Took some convincing on my DH's part, but I eventually won him over.) We are spending our first DVC trip at SSR in December 2004--I can't wait!!!

I'm wondering, though:

1) What have people's experiences been with getting BWV or BCV ressies if it's NOT your home resort?

2) What time(s) of year seems easiest to get ressies at either?

Thanks for your help, and I'm glad to see there are so many other Disney nuts out there like me!!!!!

Sarah...we've booked into BWV at the 7 month mark during the summer with no problems. BCV is smaller (# of rooms) so it might be a little tougher during peak periods. But if you try at the 7 month mark and have no luck, you can go on the waitlist. Many people have had a lot of success on the waitlist.

BWV and BCV busiest times of the year would most likely be in October during the Wine & Food Festival, all of December and spring break time (March - Early April).

I agree with Granny. Hardest times of the year for a 7 month window are Spring Break, early December and October/November while the Food & Wine Fest is going on.

Hi Sarah - Everyone says that BWV is hardest to get during the Food & Wine Festival, but we booked last October (studio) at the seven-month mark with absolutely no problems. However, BCV was our first choice and it was full. I find that most of the time if you book right at the seven-month mark that you won't have a problem getting one of your first two choices!

Right now the BWV have very little availability in early December and 7 month window is in May. I know I need to book additional rooms using my Hilton Head points but must wait.
