I booked our trip in February. Hoping for FD to come out and fully intending to upgrade from QS to the DDP if it did. Well in April my DD22 boyfriend proposed and we are now not only paying for a trip to Disney but also a wedding:headache: My 180 day mark came and I was still thinking that we would upgrade to the DDP so I made all my ressies (got everything I wanted but Le Cellier:thumbsup2) but after DH and I sat down, did the math:teacher: and double and triple worked our budget we thought it would be best to stick to the QS to save the most money that we possibly could this trip. We are a family of 6, me, DH, DD22, and 3 grandkids this trip, all 11 yrs old. We are keeping our Sci-Fi (for shakes and the atmosphere). Now here is the situation that I need some help with......

I have canceled all our ressies but Sci-Fi and 'Ohana. DH and I want to do a date night to 'Ohana but just us 2. Our ressie as it stands right now is for 6 people. We can go any night, any time during our trip since our DD22 offered to keep the kids for us to go but there is no other availability for 2 any time, any day of our stay:scared1:

Is it absolutely horrible for me to keep my ressie for 6 and show up with just the 2 of us???

PLEASE don't blast me, I want to do the right thing, I am just so afraid that if I cancel we won't get to go at all. I called a CM today and she told me that she couldn't change my ressie to just show 2, that she would have to cancel and then see if there was anything available for 2.
Just need some thoughts about this:confused3

You can call the dining line to cancel the other four. I had to change a 6 to a 4 at crystal palace and it was fine.

If they give you any issue just say " oh never mind, I want to keep the 6 I'll make sure they get there " and hang up. That was the advice a super helpful CM gave me on the phone. Then go with 2 and tell the hostess you are now just 2.

That is exactly what I did:laughing:
I think I will try calling another CM in the morning to see if I get one that is super helpful :goodvibes
Thank you HuskerFaninIL:thumbsup2

You just show up and tell them you are a party of two. They are not holding a table for you so it will be fine. You can try to reschedule for a party of two but I wouldn't stress to much if you can't get it. Leave the ressie the way it is and change it at the hostess stand. Disney doesn't actually 'reserve' tables -- you just get the next table for your party size which will be a smaller table for 2 instead of 6. Have a great date night!

For one that CM is wrong she can tell if have other ressies open I have had to do that many times thru 50 trips :thumbsup2 but you can also go online and check for two instead of 6 and book for maybe different time..it will take it then cancel your other one or call to cancel either way.. did you know (or last I heard) to upgrade from QS to MYWD is $11 per day per adult. nothing for kids under 9 think it is. and you might try lunch at Le Celler if your going to do Sci Fi and O 'Hanas with all the kids etc upgrading may be cheaper in long run..and is all snacks as well need to do the math as both those eating places a TS and so $$:surfweb: my sister just married 32 years today so wish you as much happiness:banana:

I love my disboard friends. Thank you all so much for all your great idea's, sweet wishes and for helping me feel better. :goodvibes

I am grateful for some of my friends comments, but I think you should call and try to cancel rather than just show up. People are hoping to make reservations at 'Ohana all the time, and your gift of opening up 4 spots would make their day!

I am definitely going to call and try again to change it from 6 down to 2 :thumbsup2 I really hope I get a great CM this time that can make it work and if I still get the same answer, I will try again several times since I remember how hard it is to get ressies at most of the restraunts during FD and I definitely do not want someone to miss out on a fabulous meal. :lovestruc
