I originally made an ADR for 2 adults and 2 kids for b-fast at 1900 Park Fare for the last day of our trip, because my parents were planning on leaving the day before. Now they have changed their minds and are staying another night, and I have not been able to get an ADR for 6 for that restaurant on that day (tried online and calling a few times). What would happen if we just all showed up for the ADR? Has anyone else ever had to do this?
Please be kind to me, no flames for my screw up. :flower3:

No flames. :flower3:
They might seat them if they have a cancellation, but they may not seat them. You need to prepare yourself for the possibility that they won't be able to join you. I have seen places turn folks away for that. Will your parent be ok walking away while the rest of you sit down in case they won't allow the 2 extra? Will your family be prepared to skip the meal if they don't seat your parents? Just trying to give you the possible scenarios...Are there any other places that you can get the 6 of you in? Or maybe the 4 of you can do the 1900 Park Fare and your parents could have breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe?
Hope it works out for you. :)

We've had the same sort of scenario twice and both times the extra people were seated. I wouldn't count on it, but there is definitely a chance your parents might get it. I suppose it would also depend on things like how busy the restaurant is, what tables they have available, etc. At least there are a lot of nearby dining options in case your parents don't get it!

Thank you all - good to hear that there is a chance it might work out for all of us to eat together. And the GF cafe is a good back-up suggestion! :goodvibes

I have that same problem. I made all of our reservations in August for the 3 of us... then my parents decide 2 weeks ago to meet us for the last half of our trip.

That's when I had booked all of the "hard to get" reservations. I've been trying to add 2 more to the California Grill on 12/11 and another for the Hoop De Doo on 12/12 with no luck. I was able to secure a reservation for 2 at The Wave about 15 minutes after our Cali Grill reservation just in case they couldn't be seated with us. I'm hoping for some pixie dust that night so we can all eat together.

That time of year, give it a try - but be prepared to have either your parents or the entire group (if you don't want to go without them) to eat somewhere else if necessary. Also consider that it might take longer to be seated if you need to wait for a bigger table.

Here's a little pixie dust :wizard: that it will all work out,
When I went with my sister she didn't show up to any reservation that I had actually booked thinking she would show up but came to all the ones where I didn't count her in the reservation....meaning we had no problem adding two extra people to every meal and also meaning that since she didn't show up to half of them we became a table of 4 instead of 6 leaving a table of 6 who had booked a 4 to use our table and us use theirs. Hoping this makes sense....:rotfl:
