What free things can you pick up from on site resorts? (e.g. pens, soaps).
What surprises or things to do are fun for kids when you stay in the hotel?
Thank You. :earsboy: ..

Hi there,

For free stuff there is always Mickey soap which is nice to bring home (though I don't actually like to wash with it as I don't like the smell). There are always pens in the rooms and they are usually white and say something like WDW Resort on them in gold I think?

As to what activities are avaiolable, it can vary greatly depending on which resort you stay at. Do you have a particular resort or resorts in mind so it is narrowed down a bit?

Cheers

Karen

We are hoping to stay 4 nights at CBR and then 2 nights at AKL then a house for the 2nd week.
:-))).

At the AKL some of the CMs read African folk tales beside the outdoor fireplace in the evenings - our three children thought this was one of the highlights of the resort. The CMs were great with them all and shared interesting facts and exciting stories.

They enjoyed Simbas Clubhouse as well - there is a movie shown, lots of games and activities, and dinner/drinks/snacks are included.

AKL was great for my daughters (aged 6 & 9). There were sheets in the room with pictures and descriptions of the animals, and check boxes so they could "tick off" animals they saw. My 9 year old absolutely loved sitting on the balcony and doing this, but she also loved wandering around the public savannah viewing areas to find the last few "elusive" animals on her sheet.

There was an african music and dancing session while we were waiting to eat at Boma. The girls got to dance and play instruments and they loved this a lot.

There is a storytelling session nightly at Arusha Rock but unfortunately we ran out of time for this, but I hear excellent reports.

There were organized games at the swimming pool at certain times - noodle races etc. There is a slide too which was quite tame but enjoyable. The pool itself is good fun with the zero entry.

There is a playground but again we never made it there!

The kids club "Simba's Cubhouse" was a huge hit with my DDs when they spent a few hours there one night. It was a huge hit for me and DH too as we got to enjoy a romantic meal in Jiko alone :)

There are lots of interesting artifacts and displays throughout the resort which again my eldest DD liked reading about.

I am sure there is lots more to tell you but that should do for a start ;)

We did also stay at CBR this year but as we only had one night I must admit I didn't really notice what extras there were to do there.

Posted at the same time as Frances, sorry! That will teach me for going on so long ;)
