Our first trip to Disney as Vacation Club Members is fast approaching, and I am concerned about my decision to have us stay at BW 2 days and then transfer over to BC for 1 day (last day of our trip).

We really wanted to stay at BC for the whole three days and that was my plan, as we bought into BC, but there was no Studio available for all three nights at the BC.

I thought it would be ok to just stay one night at BC and the rest at BW, but I started thinking about what happens between check-out of BW (11:00 AM) and check-in at BC (4:00 PM). Theoretically, we could be without a place to go during 5 critical hours for our son (time impacts lunch and nap), and he is only 16 months.

Has anyone had experience with requesting late check-out and early check-in? Do you think I can count on that working? If not, we probably need to just spend our first trip at the BW.

I really like the looks of BW and definetly want to stay there sometime, maybe a lot, but it will be hard to be there our first trip, because that is the resort I agonized about not buying into. It came down to BC and BW and we chose BC. I wish we could get started off at our home resort. Less chance of regrets that way. FYI...we are on the waitlist.

Anyway, thanks for you advice on this. I need to hurry up and make this switch to all BW, if I'm going to. So, I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

ArRzrbk..... Many have posted here that late check-out is not available to DVC members staying in the villas. Keep in mind that another DVC member may be waiting for the room you are in and they have to get it ready.

They can and will hold your luggage (even transfer it to the new resort, I believe) while you wait for your new room.

You may have better luck getting a room early at BCV, depending on the day of the week this all takes place. I have heard that Sundays are a high turnover day so I would not expect an early check in on Sunday.

Just a suggestion, call MS SEVERAL Times, EVERY day, until the day before check-in to see if you can stay all 3 nights at one of the resorts. It often works. People have to cancel last minute for a variety of reasons, and this would be to your advantage.

I'd hate having to change resorts during my stay, though I know that many people enjoy this (could be because I have a 21 month old and 45 month old boys, also still napping after lunch...)

Good luck!

I would very seriously consider staying at BW if you can do so. Moving with a toddler and their paraphernalia can be a little like preparing for the invasion of Normandy already, and when you get into the unknown (likelihood) of several hours with no home then even if it works out I think you will worrying about it the first two days of your trip. There are just no guarantees about late check-out and early check-in.

You will just have to plan another trip to BCV soon!

A late check-out isn't llowed at DVC Resorts, and the possibility of getting a room at your next resort before early afternoon is basically a crap shoot. If you can get all nights at one resort do it. I've traveled with infants and have also transfered rooms with them, and it is a complete nightmare!! Just to be without a room during those nap hours can cause grief, and I don't recommend it if you can help it!!
