Resorts, Relatives & Restaurants - and a 3 day cruise!

Poor Paige. I hope she feels better soon. Give her a big Buffalo hug from all of us. I had to send Madison to school today in her curlers because she has a show today. I'm always worried that someone is going to make fun of her so I kept asking her if she wanted to stay home today. She said no way. She loves going to school and she's very good at ignoring mean little comments from other kids.

Sorry to hear about your daughter getting sick. Glad to hear she's getting better already. My oldest also also has a knack of getting sick during travel or big events. Kids, make life more interesting. :)

Well Paige is much better - thanks for your well wishes!

I just re-watched this Disney special. It was about Minnesotans with ties to Disney. So the guy who did RFC and Trex also did Yak and Yeti. There's a MN guy who is the General Mangager of the Boardwalk. There's a couple from MN that own BASIN!!! I looked, didn't see anyone I recognized shopping in the store! There's a woman from MN who drives a float in Spectro (one of the big fish). There's another woman from MN who is the event coordinator at Cinderella's castle and arranges all those marraige proposals with the ring and the glass slipper! What a cool job that would be! Plus my former neighbors work there too! (They were not on the show). DH says he would want to drive a boat like between DHS and the Epcot resorts! I said I would do anything but clean. (I don't even do that at home).
If you're from MN or at all interested, you can probably find it online at KSTPTV.com and under the On the Road segments. I think it was old, because T-Rex wasn't even open yet. The sign showed opening Fall 2008!
They also said there is a BASIN at the Mall of America! I never noticed one so now I have to go look! I know they won't have bars of Mickey soap, but the other stuff would be great too! ETA: Well, I checked the MOA website. No BASIN. It must have closed since that show aired originally.

Oh, my readers - I am so sorry. I'm such a slacker! I know I need to finish this old TR. But partly because I don't have any notes, and partly because I'm lazy, I haven't updated in FOREVER!!!! I promise to try to get going this week, but I just always find other things to do. I'm going to dig through the pictures tonight so I know what I'm doing. Then I can figure it out.
I will also upload some cupcake pictures from Sarah's b-day. Paige's b-day is Wednesday, so I'm trying to plan her party too. Plus the science fair at their school is this week. Too much going on. How do people with 6 kids keep up?? Maybe they don't try to do TRs!!

Thanks AGAIN, for staying with me!

I am with you about how do people with lots of kids manage??? I can barely keep up with my two!

I am always ready to drool over cupcake photos! :thumbsup2

Take your time Sheree! I'll be here waiting!!! :)

When we got back on the ship from the beach at Castaway Cay, (:sad1:)
I have NO IDEA what we did before dinner. I thought we might have gone to the pool and Sarah finally braved the Mickey slide, but now I think that was on the day before! That's what happens when you don't take notes. arrrgh!
Anyway, I know we got all dressed up for dinner at Triton's. It was the nicest of the three restaurants so the girls put on dresses! We found a little time to pose for a few pictures and went to meet Goofy!!

We went to dinner at Triton's and took with us a couple of special Thank You candy bars for our servers. A DISer that was part of our FE exchange gave us these along with some other fun stuff.

Our servers were so wonderful!! Josi came around and cut up the girls' food for them so I didn't have to!! That's why Disney cruises are so relaxing for everyone!

While I don't remember what I had for dinner (and have no pictures of it!) I sure remember dessert!!! I was looking at the menu and having a hard time deciding between the creme brulee and the grand marnier souffle. So when Josi came over to take my order, I told her about my indecision. Note that this is not unusual for me. I always want to order last so I have more time to decide! Josi, the sweetest thing, says, "why don't you let me decide for you?" She had made good recommendations the last couple days, so why not? I knew I'd like both of them so whichever one would be good with me!

This is what she chose:

AND THIS!

Oh yeah, I got two desserts!!!! I'd heard about things like this and was so excited to get so lucky! Of course I ate them both. Yup, all of it!!! They were both so yummy!

We did not say goodbye to our servers that night since we were going to have breakfast with them in the morning before disembarking (BOO!).

Up next: Our evening show and packing. :(

I interrupt this regularly scheduled (HA!) update to bring you birthday cupcake pictures!

It took me a while (what doesn't lately?) but I remembered I promised pictures of Sarah's birthday cupcakes. These aren't the ones I originally described but here you go!
The center in the frosting is a marshmallow that is decorated with icing to look like a little cake! There was a lot of frosting! If I remember, under the marshmallow, the center of the cupcake was chocolate and the rest was white cake.

I know I was just groaning about not having motivation to do my TR, but hey, I found some somewhere and thought I'd better do it while I was in the mood!
I'm going to hold off on the final night and morning until later, but I'll try not to wait weeks before then!

This report is sure making me want to go on a Disney cruise!

Just wanted to thank you for mentioning those MN Disney segments from KSTP. I had no idea about them, but just watched all of them now. Super cool!

Oh I'm so glad!! I was hoping someone else would get to enjoy it too! I meant the KSTP thing. I hope everyone will get to enjoy the cruise too someday!

Yeay for finding some trip report writing motivation!!! Dessert at Triton's looks delicious! So nice to have such an accommodating server! I am especially impressed that she cut up the girls' food for them. How nice for you!

The cupcakes look darling and delicious! I bet Sarah was in love with them!

How awesome that your server cut up your girls food! I'm always the one cutting up Maddie's food and then I never get to fully enjoy my own dinner. 2 desserts!!!!! Now that's what I'm talking about....they both looked delicious. I love Sarah's birthday cupcakes. That is a TON of frosting. I couldn't help but notice her Webkinz on the table. I've lost count of how many Madison has!

Love the update and what wonderful cupcakes!!!!! Oh man...did you make those? Toooo cute! Is that a Webkins with Sarah? Which one is it? I am trying to get my kids off of those...we have several and they just don't play with them after the newness wears off...but boy do they want the new ones everytime they see them!!!! Crazy!!
As far as lots of kids and keeping up... I think after you hit a certain # it just doesnt matter...you are just outnumbered!!!:lmao: Ha!! Well, my cousin had 3 little girls (really close in age) and she told me, if you have 3, you might as well have 10. And it's true...the dynamics for everything changes...most restaraunts are geared for 4 people families, vacation packs are ALWAYS for 4..(now you have to do Deluxe or adjoining rooms most places)...bigger cars....of course, for me...I always wanted lots of kids, so 3 seems small to me...( I used to babysit for a family of 6)....the older kids really do help a lot-and it's not just a chore or job..they love the little ones and you, so they help. Of course, if it's what they are taught from childhood to help out and learn to be a little patient it all works out! Laundry and constant chatter do tend to never end!! Ha!!!! Sorry Sheree...didn't mean to take over yor TR!

That kind of Disney service is what has us all hooked isn't it? They do it like no one else! The cupcakes are too cute! Happy Birthday to your girls! :bday:party::bday: (I know I'm a little late on one, but better late than never!)

Yup, those were some sweet cupcakes!

That is her newest webkinz. I've lost count of how many they each have. Paige is getting the same one from Grandma for her birthday. I think I'm going to have to clear out some of the animals. They take up SO much space! They really don't play with many of them anymore either.

Maddie sleeps with every single Webkinz that she owns (definately over 30). They pretty much line the side of her bed that touches the wall. I guess I don't have to worry about her hitting her head on the wall while she sleeps! :rotfl: She plays with hers a lot, but most of them just sit in her bed. She's always playing with the stuffed cats though (she is a bit obsessed with cats)!

I love your photos of the cruise. We took the cruise for our honeymoon and loved it sooooo much. Now that we have kids, I hope to take them someday.

Your cupcakes are cute. My DD turns 4 on thursday and I really need to come up with something to make for her. I have NO imagination however. Last she had a wall-e cake, this year I think it'll be princesses. :goodvibes
