Ok here is the deal. DH decided all the sudden he wants to go to Disney world and Universal. We were there for our Honeymoon a couple of years ago. We had one problem DH gets car sick and the Busses were terrible for him. Because this is going to be an unexpected trip (probably this fall) we don't have a lot of money saved up. I was thinking about the Value resorts but then remembered they are all on buss lines. Can you suggest an alternative resort or transportation means that would be easier on his stomach but not cost and arm and a leg?

there is the monorail line (Poly, GF, WL, CR) which will service MK and EPCOT. (all those are delux resorts)

Boat line (Boardwalk Inn, YC/BC, POR (?? I think)) which will service EPCOT, MGM, DTD (I think?), and Boardwalk (those are mostly delux/mod resorts)

to get to Animal kingdom - its' a bus ride.
to get to water parks - bus

If he really can't stomach the buses...to get everywhere a car would be your only other option

Just to clarify Stinkerbelle's post:

The monorail runs to CR, Poly, and GF (not WL). It only takes you to MK and Epcot. From those resorts you would take a bus or drive to AK and MGM.

The Epcot resorts (BC/YC, BWI, Swan and Dolphin) have boats that run to Epcot and MGM. To go to MK or AK you take a bus or drive.

POR has a boat to DTD. Only buses or car to get to all four parks.

WL has a boat to MK, where you can theoretically catch the monorail to Epcot. However, that would involve transferring monorails at the TTC. Everything else is bus service.

No resort has access to all 4 parks without taking a bus or driving. However, the bus rides are usually short.

Good luck.

Fort Wilderness has boat service to the Contemporary, Magic Kingdom & Wilderness Lodge. It won't cost you an arm and a leg and 2 of those 3 boat destinations also give you monorail access......which (in addition to the above listed places) gets you to the Polynesian, Grand Floridian and Epcot (Epcot would be via a monorail transfer at the Transportation And Ticket Center).

Other than that, taxis are always an option......and cost ~$10 - $15 to any on-site Disney destination.

Good luck with your decision.

:sunny:

You can also get to the Studios from Ft. Wilderness, Wilderness Lodge, or any of the Monorail resorts without getting on a bus :-)

Yes, it takes awhile and a park hopping ticket, but it can be done.

Take boat to Contemporary or Magic Kingom from Ft. Wilderness or Wilderness Lodge.

Take monorail to TTC

Take monorail to Epcot

Walk through Epcot, exit International Gateway

Take boat or Walk to Studios
