We will be in WDW the week before Christmas (12/19-12/25) and will be staying at the Boardwalk Inn. We have been there at Christmas before so know well how crowded it will be so we are trying to explore our options ahead of time so we can make the best of the time there. We will be park hopping (our usual plan) and we are rope droppers and will take advantage of both the morning early entry for resort guests and the extended hours at MK and EP for deluxe resort guests. When we rope drop we always take a break in the afternoon and head to a nearby resort for some snacks and libations. We love Geyser Point at Wilderness Lodge, Tambu Lounge at the Poly and would love to try the Enchanted Rose Lounge at the Grand Floridian. We have heard, and it has been repeated in several videos (Allears, DFB, ...) that "resort hopping" is not permitted now and the "because of COVID" restriction is still in effect. They have stated that the guard at the gate (entry to parking lot) will turn you away if you are not a resort guest or you do not have a dining reservation. We do not drive but take Disney transportation (or ride share) to the resorts when we visit the lounges. Will we be turned away? It's hard to imagine that these venues could survive with only resort guests to bring them business. If
the restriction is indeed in place and we will be turned away we can make other plans but would like to know ahead of time.

As long as you arrive by Disney transportation/ride share, you should be just fine. Enjoy!

Yep, as above, you’ll be fine. They only restrict parking because otherwise the resort lots would fill up with people trying to avoid paying for the parks.

As others have said, you'll be fine. We went to CR, GF and Poly on our last visit, always arriving via Disney transportation, and had zero issues walking around the resorts, going to the lounges, gift shops, etc. They are only restricting non-guest parking.
