So, got a message from Disney that there was an offer to "upgrade" to a different resort if we wanted, for minimal cost. Taking a poll of what others would do.

Our trip currently is a 3 night short trip. Staying at the Beach Club Resort View Room. Just spending two days in the parks. One day to go to MK and have fun at the Halloween Party that night. The next day will be Epcot to have fun at the Food and Wine festival for the first time. Last time we stayed at the Beach Club and Poly, and adored both.

The "Upgrades" are Resort View at Poly for only $61 more total, or Resort View at Grand Floridian for $261 more total. Honestly, not sure we care about the Grand, but we do love Poly too. There are benefits to both. With the Poly, we are closer to MK, and can take the monorail to either park. For Beach Club, we have to take the bus to MK, but we are within walking distance to Epcot, our favorite park.

Thoughts?

$61 is a not an amount that would make a difference to me so I would ask myself if I wanted to be at BC or Poly and go from there. Convenience wise it doesn’t seem like much difference so I’d consider the room and resort amenities in making the decision.

We are about at the same point. I just love both so much lol :(.

Might be worth it to stay at BC for the walking and the pool. With only two days, and us driving, we can still fit in pool time before coming home.

(In all seriousness: in your case, I would stay at BC! You have a fantastic pool, walking distance to Epcot at the International Gateway Entrance, walking distance to Boardwalk area restaurants/shops, and as much as I love the Poly, I'd want to avoid the monorail resort craziness for such a short trip. Have fun!)

I honestly feel like BC is harder to get into these days than Poly. Poly might have a higher price tag, yes, so if you want to take the chance of getting in at what's technically a discounted rate. But yeah... Beach Club is hard to come by. You may want to stay put for that reason.

Can't go wrong either way!

1st reaction - panic and annoyance because a decision that was already made is now a decision again :rotfl2:

2nd reaction - seriously consider changing to Poly because it's an original resort (cue nostalgia factor) and I've never stayed there before

3rd reaction - stick with BC because being able to leave F&W after a long day at Epcot straight from World Showcase instead of going back through the whole park will be soooooo nice

We were lucky enough to do a split stay and stay at both resorts two years ago. Which ironically does not make the decision any easier because they are both so wonderful for different reasons.

I realize WDW is spinning this as an upgrade. However, all resorts offered are deluxe and all rooms are resort view rooms, which you already have. Wouldn't you just be paying more to move where they need you to move for the same room? I would stay at the BC.
