I'm planning a trip for 1/24/03-01/31/03 for myself, DH and DD (7). In the past we have stayed offsite (blech), AsMo (blech), Fort Wilderness Cabins, AKL and CBR.

We loved the cabins and the fact that is was so quiet. Didn't like the pool and the fact that it is a pain to get to. Found buses to be a little slow. Might return sometime.

We loved CBR, the hamocks, playground, theming, walking the bridge (we were in Aruba). Also like the convenience of the food court but didn't really eat there a lot. We thought the pool stunk! We would definitely return sometime.

At AKL we loved the pool and slide, thought the food court was decent (met our needs) and the animals (we had a savannah view)!!!! Didn't like how dark the resort felt or that the bunk rooms seemed cramped. We would definitely return sometime!

I like the idea of the monorail resorts, but am concerned about the lack of food courts. I also like the BC/YC/BWI area but am also concerned about the lack of foodcourts. WL seems interesting and I like the idea of the boat to MK but I wonder if the darkness would bother me. POFQ looks like fun but I'll miss the hammocks!

So what do you think would be a good resort for us to try in January? Money is a consideration, but we're not a super tight budget.

Decisions, decisions, decisions!!!

I wouldn't worry too much about the lack of food courts in the Epcot resorts area. BC has the famous Beaches & Cream and the Boardwalk has plenty of options. These will take the place of any food courts. Plus, these resorts are close enough to Epcot that you can walk there and take advantage of food options there as well.

Now, I haven't been in the Land since '86 but wasn't there a food court in there? Is it not there anymore?

If it's still there, the BW/YC/BC area might be a good choice. YC/BC has a great pool!

Hi
I guess it depends where you would be spending most of your time....MK area? I highly rec the Poly. You can't beat the atmosphere and the location. No food court but there is a small fast food place there along with the sit down restaraunts. You can also get a fridge (small )for your room to help save money on meals. I know that the food at WDW is SOOOO $$$$! If you will be near Epcot then the BW or BC would be another great choice.
I know that there are some great deals out now so maybe you can get a Deluxe room for much less money. Check out Mousesavers....
Good luck!

Although the Poly doesn't have a food court, it does have a 24 hr snack shop called Capn Cooks. They serve fresh fruit, grill items, breakfast items etc. We used them quite a bit since they always seemed to have something for everyone. There are also wonderful restaurants at the Poly. You would have the monorail to the MK, you're next to the TTC for getting to Epcot and the buses will get you everywhere else. The Poly pool is awesome and you would still have your hammock on the beach.
