Resort room requests

So in the past I was able to make room requests with online check in. Things like bed railings, pack and play, and adjoining room. I see a check in option on my app but it's not letting me make those requests. The only option it is showing is none or near lobby. I don't care where the room is but with 4 kids 7 and under, railings and pack and plays are essential (plus it majorly helps being adjoining to my parents room for the space and help). How do I do these requests now?

First of all, you want "connecting", not "adjoining" rooms if your objective is to have an internal door that is between the two rooms. Keep in mind that this is just a request and not a promise. Call Disney or have your TA do it. The CM will make a note on both reservations.

For the bed rails and pack n play, you can make the request when you check in at the hotel. Housekeeping has not been placing them in rooms ahead of time since reopening from the pandemic shutdown.

Any idea how long it's been taking to get it to the room? It's looking like we may have a late arrival so I don't want to be waiting for hours to get them. Or we are going to have some cranky kids. I'd pack them but don't think I'll be able to get it in the van.

We needed a pack n play in our VGF villa last December. We put in the request at the front desk when we checked in (room was already ready) and housekeeping had it in our hands less than an hour later.

I noticed the same thing when doing online check-in recently, and I think it's crummy. I liked being able to request a higher floor or whatever it was we needed, but the pack n play thing was (and is) the real issue. If you're getting in late, even an hour is a very long time to wait to put a cranky baby or toddler to bed. You might try chatting with someone in the app and explaining the situation, or calling day of (if you're on the road anyway, you may as well stick yourself on hold while you're driving). Otherwise I would just bite the bullet and call - in your situation I'd want that pack n play in my room and ready to go upon arrival.

We traveled with a toddler last month and requested a pack/n/play and highchair via chat for our Bay Lake Tower villa (we're members so chat is an option), and the cast member assured us he would put it in. When we arrived, neither was in the room, and the desk told us they don't deliver it until you're actually in the room in case there's a last-minute room assignment change or a problem with the room and they need to move you. DH and I arrived a couple of hours before kids and grandchild, and items were delivered while we were picking them up at the airport.
